New Features in Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee Include Account-Wide Currency and PvP Solo Queues
Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee is on the horizon. When ArenaNet promised content updates every two weeks, they meant it. The Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee is the third installment of updates since the new system came in place, and it promises to pack a punch.
First, lets talk about the party! Queen Jennah has been in power for 10 years and she is inviting her subjects to celebrate with her at the Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee. Players can hop aboard a hot air balloon, which can be found in the open world, to get to Divinity’ Reach. Once in the human capital, you can view the opening ceremony and compete in ceremonial combat. The Crown Pavilion is a new gladiatorial arena commissioned especially for this occasion.
Here is a list of events for the Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee, which starts on August 6:
Developer’s Livestream: A day before the festivities begin, players can get an early look by tuning in to the livestream at 12pm PDT on August 5th.
Hot Air Balloons: Hitch a ride on a beautiful balloon. “Find one of these balloons out in the open world, and use it to find the party in short order.”
Opening Ceremony: Watch as the Crown Pavilion is christened. The inaugural gladiator contest will take place at the new arena.
Ignite the Beacons: Beacons have been set up in Divinity’s Reach. “Take a torch from a torchbearer, then race around a course to light all of the Beacons of Kryta!”
Enter the Crown Pavilion: Of course players should try their hand at the new gladiatorial arena. “By representing various cities of Tyria, you can be named champion of a nation and gain access to unique reward vendors.”
Fight in the Queen’s Gauntlet: defeat single combat challenges against unique bosses. “Take a risk with special gambit conditions to earn even more prestigious rewards!”
And You Can Get Stuff Too
There are rewards offered to players who participate in the Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee. Watchwork parts can be used in crafting recipes and even as currency in the Crown Pavilion. Players can purchase new rune and sigil recipes, Watchknight Tonics and the Sovereign Weapon set. It is possible that you will find a recipe to create a Watchwork Portal Device, which will allow you to make a personal portal.
The Queen is awarding a Mini Watchkight to those who complete the meta achievement associated with the Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee. You will be followed into battle by a sentinel that looks just like one of her very own guards.
Yes, the Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee promises to be a great party, but there are actually some great new features coming as well. One of the most exciting of these might be the Account Wallet used for in-game currency. “This Wallet holds dungeon tokens, coins, karma, laurels, Guild Commendations, Fractal Relics, Badges of Honor, gems, and glory and makes them accessible to any character on your account.” The PvP solo queue eliminates the need to put a group together for arena matches. There is a separate leaderboard for solo PvP, so your efforts will not affect your Team Arena standings.
Other new features include bonus rewards for dungeons, bonus loot for killing Champions, a mini game rotation system and Permanent Finishers. You can read more about the Guild Wars 2 Queen’s Jubilee and the Developer’s Livestream on the Queen’s Jubilee page.
