ArenaNet Resumes Sales Of Guild Wars 2
14 Comments

Guild Wars 2 is back on the market!

After halting sales for a week and a half, things have apparently settled down enough that ArenaNet is once again selling digital copies of Guild Wars 2, via buy.guildwars2.com and its retail partners.

Since suspending sales, ArenaNet and NCsoft have substantially expanded the game’s capacity by deploying new servers in both North America and Europe, and by nearly doubling the number of customer support agents. Game systems that have been under extremely heavy demand, such as the Trading Post, have been bolstered and prepared for the continued influx of players.

Mike O’Brien went on to echo his previous comments about the sales freeze being all about “preserving the customer experience,” even if it costs the company money in the short term.

Did you or someone you know not purchase GW2 before the freeze? And are they still wanting to get in? Or has the time passed and that person’s not as interested in the game any more?

Yay for showing people golem exploiting on your video…
Before people start trying to argue it isn’t, it’s 100 to build one and look how many there are.

That was from the 2nd BWE I think.  That video is pretty old.

It’s only 1g to build a golem and the vid is pretty old. Taken from one of the beta’s where they gave you gems to convert to gold if you wanted. I’m pretty sure by the time ppl in game have that much money they are willing to throw at golems, there will be other people who have enough money to counter them.

On another note, your information is off. You should research stuff before posting about it. They stopped selling the game via their website only, to allow retailers to be able to shift some of their boxed copies. You could still buy the game from retailers.

Jason says in the article ”
Arena net is once again selling digital copies of Guild Wars 2″  But I know what you mean.

From what I understand, the retailer could even sell the digital version. It was just Arenanet that paused sales of Arenanet digital copies.

From the title I thought you were saying Arena net is selling Guild Wars 2… as in selling the rights of the game…. you guys almost gave me a heart attack.

Anet obviously think gamer first – number of sales second.  And thats how it should be and they will be rewarded for it.  Awesome game.  Having such a blast.
