100,000 Mists Of Pandaria Beta Invites Being Sent

Stop your QQ’ing, stop your rage posts on the World Of Warcraft forums.

100,000 Mists Of Pandaria beta invites are on their way.

This morning, Bashiok revealed that 100,000 beta invites are in the process of being sent out, so if you are a WoW annual pass holder make sure to keep spamming your refresh button as an invite to the hottest expansion in town may be heading your way.

With 100,000 invites going out between roughly 1 million annual pass holders, it seems this may be the planned route for further invites down the line. Expect multiple runs of roughly the same number until they are confident their servers can handle the pressure. Blizzard are intentionally holding you back, just making sure everything is just right for when you arrive.

With the beta being in such high demand, you may have sit, wait and hope you get lucky as it doesn’t seem like the flood gates are opening just yet.

To do so, we need to make sure that our new systems remain stable as we add players. If we let everyone in at the exact same time, we risk damaging the stability of the service, and then no one would be able to play. We can’t let everyone in at the same time; however, all Annual Pass holders will be invited before any opt-ins.

We’re in the process of sending 100,000 invites to Annual Pass holders, and we recommend keeping an eye on your email and Battle.net account for an invite to come explore Pandaria.

Rest assured that we WILL get all of our Annual Pass holders into the beta test. Thank you for the passion and support you’ve shown for the game, and please be patient with us as we continue driving hard toward finishing up Mists of Pandaria and getting it into your hands as quickly as possible.

I would say they could just offer X amount money int he blizzard store thing. Like 50 bucks you could use to buy real money AH, or microtranactions.

Are you really gonna get a lot of bug reports? Well if you count people
QQing on the forums probably. Still, think most people just want to play
around and dont even realize as you said, this is BETA.

I fear that instead of it making the BETA go for less time, it makes it
go for longer time so they can get everyone in and let them enjoy it
long enough so they will buy it again for the next  expansion beta.

If people don’t get a good amount of time to play before launch? MOP
better be free as mike say or the world (of warcraf) will explode…

Yes you will get more bug reports but do we really think with recent layoffs and the transition of a lot of workers to Titan they will have the manpower to deal with them? Probably not, most likely the beta will last awhile because they have to fit way too many people into it and unless they want to release the game with many known bugs they will have to spend a lot of time fixing it before launch.

Also have to keep in mind the release of D3 which is coming before MoP, that game is launching incomplete already due to them taking too long on the PvP side of it, not to mention bugs that will most likely occur after launch they will have to deal with. So I think it is safe to say Blizz is lacking manpower to take any kind of advantage of a larger list of bugs faster.

Keeeeep it up!! Love the new site and all the news rolling in!

I deffinatly agree that more beta testers = faster beta

One of the reasons that I am unsure about MoP being free with an annual pass is because if you cancel your pass or miss a payment or some other crazy shinanigans then you lose the xpac. Wouldn’t that create chaos? Im not 100% sure.

Also, my annual pass ends when blizzcon was suppose to be and I got it when it was announced. Are they really going to push MoP release till my first year is up? And if it drops before my year is up and it I have to pay for it. I will pay for it. But then i have no reason to sign up for the annual pass at that point.

the only thing they have up there sleeve that could top the this years annual pass would be Titan, so what about Titan beta with the next annual pass. I’m already thinking next years blizzcon will be focused around it, so why not. its the same player base

Couple of hours after you posted this, another 100.000 beta invites was send out :-D

Guess it wasn’t a couple of weeks untill next wave :D

(And I got a feeling that the reason hardly anyone posted in you comments, that they got a beta invite back then, might have something to do with most of the people getting the invite being busy playing :-p)

(and regarding who got picked for the beta, I don’t know if they messed up somewhere, but I started playing about 2 month after the EU release, only had my account inactive for about 1 month in those 7 years, and I ordered the pass during the BlizzCon opening cermony… And I got in, in the first wave, so for me it seemed right.)

  • Kagitaar

People who got in the first wave, like myself, just sat around looking at class changes and rolling a monk as there was nothing else to do. I really can’t fathom the whine about not getting in when there wasn’t any real content to play, and I say play because we all know that at least 95% of the people who will be in this beta are not interested in bug reports and number crunching. We’ll most likely see everyone in in a week or two, then, like I believe Lore said last night, those people will quit messing with it until a new patch and let those of us who care to test in peace.

This isn’t a pre-order and cancel at Gamestop beta, this is real testing.

    I got my invite :)

Lol, tried posting to the battle net forums for the New Beta Waves Incoming topic and I couldn’t post because I don’t have beta access. Seems the only postings is folks checking their accounts and finding they have access.

    Meh.

What Id like to know is, will the first wave and the last wave have the same amount of time to be able to test the beta?
