MechWarrior Online Premium Packages Now On Sale

If you’re a hardcore MechWarrior fan who’s been anxiously awaiting your chance to try out MechWarrior Online, your wait is almost over — if you’ve got the cash, that is.

Piranha Games has announced three tiers of Founder’s Packages that are now available for purchase. Dubbed “Operation Inception,” the three packages offer varying levels of in-game currency, premium account time, and exclusive ‘mechs on the higher two levels.

All three packages include a Founder’s Tag to distinguish you on the forums, as well as granting players access to the game on August 7, ahead of general launch.

These packages will only be available for a limited time, but we wouldn’t be surprised if other deals were available in the future. Other free-to-play games, like World of Tanks and Lord of the Rings Online have frequently offered paid packages to give players a headstart for a relatively low price.

  (don’t think I’m breaking NDA here cuz I’m pretty sure they’ve stated this publicly) everything in the mechlab is available via the soft currency that you earn from matches. The only benefit paying real cash does is getting you the actual base mechs earlier than having to earn the in-game cash to buy it.

I’ve been in beta since wave 1 invites (my mechwarrior friends have been really jealous) and I’ve gotta say I’m loving it so far. I love twitch gaming, but I also love a more thoughtful, tactical approach (you’re a giant hulking piece of machinery, it’s gonna take a while for you to turn around and GTFO if you run into trouble). That being said, there are the varying classes of mechs and some are fast little fkrs which may appeal more to twitch gamers. I can’t really say much more than that because of NDA, but I will be buying a founder’s pack, just not sure if middle or top tier, mostly depends if I want 4 “free” founder’s mechs vs 1.

I’ve been actually meaning to ask if any GBTV crew have gotten in/have been interested in this, but I guess you answered that in the video.

Still waiting on Mechwarrior Tactics beta to start up (it’s in friends and family atm).

Mike B, You do lose weapons that get shot off and what not as well as lose limbs.
Ammo explodes as well if you placed them in parts of the mech that gets damaged.

You than have to buy replacement weapons and ammo from the mech lab with C-bills.

I been in beta a while but now I cant log in…been playing Mech games since GEnies/Kesmia MPBT back in 1992 which this game is a direct copy of it..though not in 16 colors like we had back then….but everything reminds me of MPBT 20 years ago There is even a spot on the forums for us OLD timers from MPBT.

In mechwarrior 4 there was 2-3 people in the world who could give me a challenge I dont expect to have those same reflexes like so many years ago

But I havent been able to log into the game…I can log into the web site but…

Also it seems the same BUGS we had/used in MPBT still work lol 20 years later.

But this game will over heat you computer real easy so be careful it has been smoking peoples computers.

Just wondering if we will put together the old group from mpbt and bring back the swarmers…
