Orcs: They’re Fantastic!
Cryptic Studios has released a brand spanking new trailer for Neverwinter featuring everyone’s favorite toothy humainoid: the orcs. The video showcases the grey-skinned hulks as they’ve gone from concept art to in-game models and there’s even some orcish environments to feast our eyes upon.
While many Dungeons and Dragons fans would sell their +5 vorpal swords for a chance to play as a half-orc, there’s no denying the immense satisfaction that will be gained by cleaving, backstabbing, and burning throngs of Gruumsh’s favored creatures. Orcs are a staple bad guy in the Forgotten Realms and every villain worth his salt should hire two dozen of them to serve as speed bumps for meddling adventurers.
In Neverwinter, players can expect to face off against the minions of the bloodthirsy Vansi Bloodscar. She rebelled against the orders of King Obould XVIII and turned her reconnaissance mission into a power play, establishing a base in one of Neverwinter’s first dungeons: The Cloak Tower. It’s up to the players to stop her, but will the threat truly disappear or does her true (and unnamed) master have other nefarious plans in the works?
