After all the fuss about the risque depiction of characters in TERA, it really wasn’t a surprise to me to see something about EU TERA fans filing a petition against censorship of the game.
I really have to be honest, though. I would not have expected this reason.
Now, let me say, I do understand that the US and EU have different standards on what makes a game have a certain rating. However, I also know that most games seem to have almost equal ratings when the two are compared.
So it’s a bit confusing that a petition about censoring the blood in the game needs to be filed because Frogster is trying to keep the game PEGI 12+. According to a post on the TERA EU forum, lead CM Raven told fans that the blood level slider had been removed from the game in the latest build. Raven’s explanation was that this was necessary because changes in the latest update for TERA increased the amount of blood on some details and that they either had to remove the slider or change the rating.
Raven also stated that because boxes for the game were already being produced and they pre-sold copies with the 12+ rating, they had no other choice than to make the change.
