the entire experimentation system needs to go bye bye. Once the recipies are posted online there will be no point. Once you have the ingredients or mats the game should just auto grant you the recipie. Also having the result such as a piece of armor equiped or salvaged should also grant the recipie if you have the craft.

I feel they gefenetly have to work on the system they have in place right now. The big problem is, that it only allows you to have 1 buff at a time and that will make a lot of dishes obsolete (who wants +15% health while downed?) i liked the GW1 system where you could have any amount of buff food on you if you wanted to, but each of them did not last much longer then 10 minutes. There were certain buffs that would last 30 mintes but those were far more expensive.

All of them had slightly different bonusses like 25% IAS, 25% IMS, +100health, +10 energy or increased attributes.this way you could find your own mix (if you had the money you would just use all of them). some of them did overlap but +25%IMS x2=+33%IMS(which was max).
i think this system was pretty good (yes it did fill your inventory) but if you see how much inventory space will be possible trough runes (up to +20/bag) I dont see a big problem with having many dishes with you. To be honest I thin you will have a variety of them with you all the time since you want to be prepared for every possible situation.

Yes, I know, but most dishes seem to buff only one stat, and I'm pretty sure I saw several repeats (maybe it was just the same stat but with slightly different strengths, but I think they were actually identical). It would be more interesting if every dish had a slightly different balance of stats.

Letting people stack multiple dishes (ex., 3) while reducing the strength of each (ex., to 1/3rd) would just force people to click on 3 things (and use 3 inventory slots) to achieve exactly the same effect, and would add the problem of what happens if someone eats a 4th dish. Do you lose the first one? Does the game ask you which one you want to give up?

It seems like an unnecessary addition to the UI (and extra clicking) when they could just have a ton of different dishes, and people could pick the one with the stats they wanted.

> So maybe mid duration buffs with 2 stats?

I don't think dishes should have a fixed number of stats. They should have a fixed number of "buff points" (for any given level), but the distribution of those points should be what distinguishes the effect of different dishes. Some would have all the points on a single stat, some spread across two, some spread across three, some four, etc. (in varying proportions, depending on the dish).

In some cases there isn't a direct correspondence to stat points since some dishes give a % chance of gaining a boon when you hit an enemy, etc., but I'm sure Arena Net has some internal equivalence.

I thought you can lvl all crafts on one character and only have 2 active ones. Grant it I probably won't make cooking my first 2 crafts I lvl up, but I would eventually lvl up every craft on one character.

Thats already in there. The meatball dinner (which is a more extensive craft) gives +15 strenght and +15 vitality if I recall correctly. but the thing is it is, again, for 30 minutes. The system I intended was to take more buffs/money/meterials out of the game since the buffs would run out faster and you had to rebuff more often.

''Just so there aren't too many different dishes with identical buffs''

true I didn't really think about that point. It would basically kill the variety.

So maybe mid duration buffs with 2 stats?

Maybe even some that increase the main attribute of each proph. so it can only be used by Mesmers or Necros etc.

Hmm now I want an option to eat all those slabs of meat I got, maybe with a chance of getting a diseased condition. There should be a trait to lower the chance of that happening too. :)
