The Chinese Ministry of Culture gave Mists of Pandaria the OK to launch in China. There was some doubt as to whether or not it would get the go ahead, as there were rumours of the Ministry of Culture not being terribly happy with the idea of pandas having the snot kicked out of them in the coming expansion.
Having suffered over a million subscription losses in the region this can only be seen as a good thing, for both Blizzard and Chinese gamers.
More surprising is the speed with which MoP was given the green light. Wrath of the Lich King took over 2 years and a lot of model retexturing to get a release in China, and Cataclysm was only released this past July for Chinese gamers.
There is no official release date for the Chinese version of Mists of Pandaria (or as Google has translated it “Panda Man of Mystery“) but let’s hope that it isn’t too far off of the rest of the world.
