City of Heroes has been rather quiet after announcing the shutdown of the servers. Luckily, the team dropped a post regarding details to pre-closing events and how refunds will be handled.
The team is planning on having a number of events before the final shutdown of the game. The only downside is there are currently no exact details on when we will see these events hitting the servers but they did give us a game plan on what to expect for refunds!
If you had an active VIP subscription starting September 1st then you will be granted VIP privileges for the remainder of the game. However, those that had their subs lapsed will find they will not be able to renew their subs.
Also any fees paid on September 1st or Paragon Points purchased on or after August 24th will be refunded to you.
Gamers using game cards will have to contact customer support for their refund.
While it is sad to see an MMO close down, even one after eight good years, it is nice to see the team behind it give gamers a send off to remember!
