Rift Devs Show Off Storm Legion Via Twitch

E3 has ended and everyone is on their way home.

But before the festivities were over, Trion decided to show off Rift‘s Storm Legion expansion to more than just expo attendees. Taking to Twitch, two of Trion’s team members demonstrated some of the level 60 content that will be available with the expansion.

While the devs decided to stray from the E3 demo script — primarily leaving out the powerpoint presentation — gamers around the world were able to check out content such as the Clockwork Dungeon, the Tower of Dawn and an epic battle with a huge colossus named Volon.

Viewers will also see quite a bit of interesting gameplay in this video including jumping into a beam fired from the colossus and the devs using catapults to fling themselves about.

Oh yeah, did I mention the flying croc mount?  Well, maybe gliding or jumping really, really far. Either way, it’s still amazingly cool and makes me want to hug Trion.  Is it possible to give a company a hug?

For anyone ever wishing there were World Bosses in their game… this looks about as awesome as it gets!

Rift deserves much more attention then what it gets. Solid solid company

Well if the game didn’t flop and actually kept a stable playerbase it prbly would of gotten more coverage, but thats what happens with MMOs now a days there only big news for a short time and pop out once and a while and drop back into the shadows. Honestly the Expansion may help Trion for a month or 2 but than things will go back to normal.

In what way did the game flop? It made a profit in its first year, it cost roughly 50 million to make and it made 100 mil revenue in its first year so atleast some of that extra 50 million was profit. It is clearly still viable as TRION is still pumping out content for it and make a huge expack. Also it is still being advertized. So please explain again how it was a flop.

dont listen to Luke, if you ever read his comments, all he does is talk negative about a game he obviously doesn’t like. but somehow he knows the future.

Q, if you figure out how to hug Trion, let me know.  They definitely deserve it as far as I’m concerned.  :)

If I can figure out how to hug the entire company, I will let you know. XD

Give it up, With GW2 around the bend there is no more room for a Subscription model to be popular.

    • Avaloner31

Funny people thought the same thing when GW1 released….

      • http://twitter.com/Luke_Malcolm Luke Malcolm

no Shawn is right, Nowadays P2P isn’t so popular anymore. Most games are better to go B2P or F2P as it brings in more people to actually try the game. Like I don’t understand why Trion hasn’t figured that out yet, More people would be more inclined to try the game if it was B2P or F2P. P2P is a thing of the past and WoW will be the last & only big/successful P2P MMO out there.

        • Avaloner31

Will you be saying the same thing if GW2 follows the trend of every other MMO of recent years with lots of interest at the start then a steady decline afterwards? I am happy to pay a RIFT sub, knowing that new content is released every few months and geting features added to the game (like 3 faction PVP) that most games release in paid for expacks.

The two new continents will be 50-60 but “there will be options for people to level based on their playstyle”. source: http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/06/07/e3-2012-rift-1-9-storm-legion-and-beyond/

GW2 is going to be lol compared to Storm leigon. Not to mention bug bug and more bugs. GW2 won’t be polished at all. GW2 will fall to rift like swtor. Rift is old faithful very solid mmo and best on the market.
