A little more than a week ago ArenaNet ignited excitement for Guild Wars 2 going by announcing its release date.

Today we have official word that the Sylvari and Asura will be available during the next beta weekend event.

Now, to keep the hype train going, we have received word that fans can immerse themselves in the world of Tyria with the official GW2 soundtrack.

This four-disk deluxe set is available on DirectSong.com for $29.99 and comes with more music than can even be found in the collector’s edition. Additionally, each copy will be personally autographed by composer Jeremy Soule, who is responsible for the music in the first game as well. However, for those just looking to add this collection to your iPod, you still will have to purchase the physical copies as there is no digital download available.

So for those of you looking for something to hold you over between the upcoming open beta weekend and the official launch, this might just be the purchase for you!

ArenaNet Releases Guild Wars 2 Soundtrack For $30

I originally was under the opinion that this was a bit much in the way of price, but then I saw the details. 4 discs worth of music and autographed by Jeremy Soule; yea this is pretty darn awesome.

hang on a sec. i didn’t buy the GW2 CE, but doesn’t it literally say “Best of GW2 Soundtrack” on it ?

if it’s anything like the complete soundtrack directly ripped from the game (that’s been floating around since the first BWE), it’s 92 tracks.

just to be clear. anyone who thinks it’s a rip-off: go complain to jeremy soule. DirectSong is his platform and i’m sure not going digital was a “business decision” of his… this is not handled by ArenaNet (who actually don’t have much to say in terms of business decisions anyway, seeing how they’re owned by NCSoft), nor is it NCSoft’s idea.

The reason its not digital download is that Jeremy Soule has always sold his music on Directsong only and never for digital download because he makes his CD’s DRM free. Directsong is also a company founded by him and his brother Julian Soule.

I dont wanna say it’s not worth it, each person will attach a certain amount of value to it. Personally the music that is in the game is not worth 1/2 the game cost. Just how I view it.

“…you’re getting a four dicks….. uh uh four disc deluxe set…” lol Mike, what was on your mind 0.o

It doesn’t come with the CE cause this is sold and made by Direct song.

As a buyer who purchased two CE’s A little upset and kinda see this as B.S but I know it will be available for Torrent download in no time.As for signed it would be great to have something signed by him but like anything purchased online it’s hard to guarantee authenticity unless it was verified..There website does say: PLEASE NOTE, all orders placed will be personally autographed by composer Jeremy Soule while supplies last..

Yay the video is FluffyGuild on Youtube :D That’s us :D /wave

Jeremy Soule? Like, Morrowind Music Jeremy Soule? AWESOME!

  • TheForeignHunter

This kinda pisses me off.. i pay $150 to get the CE and wanting the Soundtrack then they say that i don’t get everything in it? That’s just not right…..

  • IARRynk

This is something I am interested in. However, I’m not in the US and therefore get charged Import Tax which is a no go for me.

  • itsJUSTINduh

No digital download? It’s the internet … there will be torrents for it anytime now.

  • Jado Cast

Jeremy Soule is to games what John Williams is to movies. Just friggin awesome.

    • Old Ben

Except John Williams doesn’t have a musical genre named after him.

Well I am torn. I did want the soundtrack for those of us not interested in the collector’s edition but they forgot a reason why many don’t want the collector’s edition of GW2: we like digital.  I don’t want clutter and I prefer digital versions of everything.  Also, not paying $30 for it. Make a unsigned FLAC version for cheaper and I’ll be all over it. People will torrent this if it’s not made available digitally. (Not saying it’s right but it will happen so beat them to the punch and offer it digitally as well.)
