A few days ago, Mike Schaffnit and I talked about a “mystery box” received by PC Gamer that contained all sorts of seemingly unrelated items — unless of course you somehow put them all together and came up with a RIFT expansion.
Yesterday, Trion trademarked the name “Storm Legion”, sparking debate about what the lore of the assumed new expansion would be.
Well now we know. As of today, Trion has officially announced the Storm Legion expansion for RIFT.
For those of you who may not be up to date on your RIFT lore, the Storm Legion is one of the Dragon Cults and is associated with Crucia, the dragon of air. She’s a nasty “lady” that I’d say I wouldn’t want to mess with if I weren’t so excited about beating the snot out of her.
While there are still a few guessing games left regarding the expansion, here’s what we do know. Storm Legion will feature two new continents, seven dungeons, three raids a Chronicle and something called “the Hunt”.
There will also be four new souls: one for each calling and a level cap increase to 60.
On top of all of that, there’s a little something I didn’t expect. The expansion will include “dimensions”: customizable spaces for players and guilds.
Housing, anyone?
Oh yes… And for the fashion-conscious among you: there will be capes.
