RIFT’s first expansion, Storm Legion, isn’t too far away now., as it’s due to hit November 13th. But, before that occurs, there are a few things to do.
Not long from now, Trion will be releasing RIFT’s 1.11 patch Tempest Rising. This patch is the lead-in to Storm Legion and will set in motion the events leading to the release of the expansion. While Trion has yet to announce a date for the update, they have released information on some key features of 1.11.
Most important among the features are incoming major class changes and the Tempest Rising world event.
The class changes feature an overhauled Ascended Soul System and a worldwide Soul reset. This will help level the playing field for new or veteran players. Everyone gets a chance to experiment with souls — including the four new ones — and learn new and adjusted abilities.
The Tempest Rising event will require Defiant and Guardians to defend Meridian and Sanctum against Crucia’s Legion forces. Players who have pre-ordered Storm Legion will also be able to access the first expansion dungeon “Exodus of the Storm Queen” in which they will be able to take on Crucia’s lieutenants and earn new gear touched with the power of the Storm.
So, for now, we still don’t know exactly when Tempest Rising will hit, but considering Storm Legion’s release date I’m going to guess in the next week or two. What do you think?
