The World of Tanks is getting a bit more British, thanks to Wargaming.net pushing out Update 8.1 this week. The update brings a variety of British tanks to the battlefield, all falling under the banner of the Royal Tank Corps.
Update 8.1 brings 22 new heavy, medium, and light British tanks to the game. The medium and light variety have a distinct advantage in terms of speed and maneuverability, sort of like David Beckham, but lack the clout to win engagements single-handedly, also like Beckham. The heavy tanks, on the other hand, are more capable of handling themselves in direct combat, but more sluggish in terms of control.
The latest update also brings visual upgrades to some of the game’s maps, including, Province, El Halluf, Dragon Ridge, and the Abbey. The structure of these maps has been reworked, with some receiving updated physics that will allow for more dynamic play. Overall, the maps are becoming more graphically impressive, while also having some of the issues that made them “boring” resolved by the development team.
So, British tanks and updated maps. World of Tanks continues to get better and better.
