Mists of Pandaria Is Handing Valor Out Like Candy
21 Comments

It seems like Mists of Pandaria is going to make the Valor Point grind a little easier for players with the addition of the Valor of the Ancients buff.
Once one of your characters has reached the Valor Point cap for the week, your alts on that realm gain the buff increasing all points gained by 50%.

This buff comes along with a new change limiting the amount of Valor Points  any one toon can hold at a time to 3,000.
In the grand scheme of things players will be able to grind out 1,000 Valor Points per week on each toon and hold a total of 3,000 on each toon.

Not a huge deal on the limit of points, but the buff does seem like a nice way to help people with multiple characters to round out their valor points. Let us know what you think about the Valor of the Ancients buff.

Great idea for end game. Doubt it’ll be that useful to the majority in the beginning of MoP.

For sure, this is level 90 discussion.

It would be interesting if they did this for PVP honor.  If you level 90 PVP toon hit honor cap for the week, it would be nice if your lower level PVP toons got an honor bonus.

I like this change. Will make the weekly grind on multiple toons so much nicer.

So let me get this straight. WoW is a casual game that costs 15 dollars a month? But in all honesty, I’m not a fan of this idea. Yeah it sucks to farm on alts but thats the down part. Can’t be up sides to everything.
Yet this game has me coming back all the time. I thought I was out but they pulled me back in.

I cut the chord with a Fiery Dragon sword…

+10 for anyone who got that ref.

Don’t get me wrong i liked gw1 except the instanced part. But the longevity isn’t near what I want. Just box price yeah but time competing with another game i’d enjoy and know I would be playing longer.

GW1 was kool, but GW2 will keep me from going back to WOW.

In combination with my usual diet of non-MMO games, I won’t have time or desire for the gear grind in WOW… This change would’ve been nice when I was farming my BOA gear though.

I’m sorry, GW2 is starting to sound like a grind. So far level 1-30 seems cool, really enjoyable.  But then you have to grind to level 80 to finish up your personal story.

While PVP should be fun with being bolster to level 80, PVE is starting to look dull between 30 and 80.

          • Jay

If it was cool and really enjoyable from 1-30, why do you think it would be different 30-80? If anything there are less Renown Hearts and more Dynamic Events the higher level you go… I’m not sure why you think that you’d have to “grind” to level 80 to finish your story.

You’re story goes from level 1-80.. Did you think it should stop at 30? I’m not sure what worries you.

          • Dixhallpike

Eh what?! Its grindy? You level the exact same way as you did from 1-30 with an addition of dungeons. Uneducated statements is so funny yet so sad at the same time.

Dixhal its called proper feedback, I agree with Dularr on what he says. I felt the same way when I played during the last BWE.

          • Dixhallpike

Feedback? Only a few people has played beyond lvl 30 on the final build and those who have are under NDA. The builds we played during the BWE wasnt final. So how is whining without having the propper scource feedback?

I really don’t care, the way I see it, the only opinions that matter concerning anything WoW related here are the players sticking around who have been overall pretty darn happy with WoW and aren’t bailing on it whenever a new shiny free to play game comes out which much like SWTOR and Rift is being over-hyped….those who are leaving for GW2, your opinion doesn’t really matter anymore so ———- > door :)

Should been good. You can raid, dungeon run and knock out dailies on your main.  Then you can then dungeon run and lfr on alts and meet the cap.  Should take out any need for grinding dailies on alts.

  • Don Zettel

Sounds good but hard to tell until we know how the new valor points are actually going to work.

  • Sharuko

What a smart move, encourages players to play their main and also play their alts.

    • http://twitter.com/Luke_Malcolm Luke Malcolm

       Agreed Sharuko

  • Pedro Carvalho

I unfortunally disagree with the author when she says “Not a huge deal on the limit of points(…)”, since my strategy was based on the infinite ammount of valor points that we could hold, regardless the 1000 valor cap per week.

The idead behing my strategy was going to hold as much Valor as I could, until reach Revered with Factions of choice, and just then, spend valor there. Since we don’t have a dailies cap anymore i think i would be able to hold a good sum of valors before reaching revered with one faction. This way i would be able to gear myself with 489 ilvl gear in a faster way.

  • Cryptonite_0348

Very nice to gear up the alts by this system.

    good

I have ten alts on my main server. I love this idea!
