World of Warcraft Battle Chest 66% off this week in the EU, 75% US.

For this week only, the Battle Chest, which has been recently updated to include Wrath of the Lich King is available for only €5 or £4 via battle.net! The US sale is offering even bigger discounts, with a massive 75% off, meaning the Battle Chest is available for just $5.

This is the digital download, not the physical copy, so you won’t be receiving a box and a guide with it, just a code, but for such a low cost this is a great offer. It also grants you the ability to get yourself a recruit-a-friend account, or, of course, one for your friend. This allows you and your friend various perks, if you level together, such as:

  • Recruit and veteran characters can summon one another to each other’s locations across the globe.
  • While adventuring with your linked friend or family member, you will each gain triple experience while partied up to level 80, as long as your characters are within 4 levels of each other.
  • For every two levels the recruit’s characters earn, one grantable level is gained. Recruit characters may then grant these levels to the veteran player’s character as long as the character is lower in level than the level granting character

The important things to note, here, are the triple XP gain and the grantable levels. These can be used to boost your characters all the way to 80 in record time, and, if your friend just happens to have the same name as you on their battle.net account, or if you just created another one in your own name (which is just fine, by the way, GAMEBREAKER doesn’t encourage cheating or exploits), you can transfer the leveled character over to your main account for the cost of a Paid Character Transfer.

And if you do choose to use this offer to go down the recruit-a-friend route, you also get the rather excellent Obsidian Nightwing mount, once your friend has bought 2 months of game time!

Rift is including their core game with the expansion. just sayin’

    • http://twitter.com/Zedris Zedris

      and they have 1 expansion

      • http://twitter.com/Deadalon Deadalon

And its not outdated as badly as the WOW expansions.

        • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

Wrong, Cata did a really good job updating the level 1-60 content. Levels 60-80, is still a bit out of place, but the leveling is fast and having fun running dungeons, I haven’t run in years.

I would recommend the $5 WoW with 30 days of free game time just for the level 1-60 content.  With the new expansion and cross realm zones, the lower zones have come alive.

I really wouldn’t bother responding, he’s trolling, I’ve learned that about this site. That’s why I don’t post here much anymore,

          • http://twitter.com/Shaniaxx Shania

Yep, Deadalon is level 95 troll

          • JJversion1

Doesn’t surprise me one bit. Guess one is how they behave.

Dead Graphics mean nothing its all about Gameplay, If you care is graphics in a game than your one sad indiviual.

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

That’s a really good move by Trion Worlds, but last I checked it didn’t include 30 days of gametime.  So the new player would still need to play for the first month of gametime.  With the $5 Wow box, you get 30 days of gametime.

It’s stupid how they’re charging any money for this stuff, it should be free.

You should really get Olivia a new microphone. Her sound is rather terrible, and I have noticed it in several videos where she talks. It is extremely annoying.

    How ever, nice offer!

    • http://twitter.com/Zedris Zedris

THANK YOU. iv been commenting this every time i see a video with olivia and still nothing

      • http://twitter.com/oliviadgrace Olivia Grace

I’m sorry! I use the same headset for these that I use for Legendary — is it a problem there too? What about the sound quality is bad?

        Olivia

        • Luís Rocha

Not that it bothers me that much, but yes, either your microphone or your internet connection is making you sound a bit choppy.
Love your WoW-passion, either here or on Wow Insider, keep up with your enthusiasm! =)

Desperate much Blizzard?   Sound like F2P model is preeetttyyy close….

    • http://twitter.com/Luke_Malcolm Luke Malcolm

Just like how Trion is desperate they dropped Rift to 5 bucks 2 months after release while it toke Blizzard 8 years & now Rift has dropped more servers (which is the worse thing to do before an expansion) what are they to now 8? and using the excuse to hide the fact that game is in a faster decline than WoW which toke a month, while its toke Wow 7 years to show any sign of decline.

Like Jason McIntyre said below, WoW is 8 years old and you shouldn’t be charged, But also have to remember its Activision they need there money & 5 isn’t that bad.

Sorry but if any company is desperate its Trion & Rift F2P is closer than you think.

      Good Day Sir

So how much is Olivia getting payed by Blizzard for these adds ?

Only good thing coming out of this is ALOT of ppl will realise how outdated WOW really is.

    Good stuff.

    • Damir Miric

      Olivia likes WoW.

I think blizz is doing this to ramp up their sub numbers even if people buy this thing and sub for 1 month then leave they will be able to count in those people when they announce the sub numbers.

I bet they dont have 10 mil and thats what they are trying to get by doing this. While they are at it they could of achive same thing just by giving their loyal customers lets say people that played wow before a free month with all expansions.

I just dont know why they dont do its such an obvious solution to their problem.

      • http://www.facebook.com/inkogni.alex Inkogni Alex

yup, the wow giant is going down from the looks of it. they needed to have this at wrath or early cata not now when they have more daily quests for you to do than monthly subs they have

      • http://twitter.com/Luke_Malcolm Luke Malcolm

Q3 ended at the end of September so all the numbers we see will be from July 1 – September 30. The numbers from now October 1 – December 31st we wont see until Feburary 2013.

    • Kingmob23

“So how much is Olivia getting payed by Blizzard for these adds?”

Probably only a fraction of what this site gets paid to peddle that piece of sh!t GW2.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JD5RIAPTFFZFIF3DCNYVVG7NIQ Kyle Bohannon

people will probably call me a troll but i decided to buy this, since it was only 5 bucks, installed it, logged in and did maybe 3 quests and realized why i stopped playing a year and a half ago. it just doesnt do anything for me.

i couldnt make it past the first 3 levels in the panda starting area. sorry blizz, lots of good memories but its just not the game for me anymore

    • http://twitter.com/dularr Dularr

I did find the Pandarian starting area to be over structured. While they are okay, never been a big fan of the DK, wargen, goblin and now the pandarian starting areas. Best to run it with a friend.  Once you make it to level 15 the world opens up again and gives you multiple options to level your character.

I’m enjoying my undead monk, quick to get it out of the starting area, so you can take control on how to level your toon.

Blizz is so desperate, and you are right the wow giant is going down. Lets see 10 million plus subs. Hmm yeah I give them another week.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_JD5RIAPTFFZFIF3DCNYVVG7NIQ Kyle Bohannon

to be fair id say that this next quarterly report will indeed show a rise in subscribers and most likely over the 10 million mark. i also think that if they stick to their guns and come out with faster content it could very well appeal to the 2 million they lost during cata.

that being said, in my post below i picked this up to upgrade my starter edition and i just couldnt get back into the game, if it was f2p then i could maybe see myself logging in every now and then to play but i cant justify myself paying 15 bucks a month to log in for 1-2 hours a month

  • digibluez

lets milk the latest cash out of those old gamers….go away blizz and make free to play already, wow is not worth buying.
