Orc-playing Maine State Senate Candidate Colleen Lachowicz is elected!

GAMEBREAKER posted a while back about the Maine State Senate Candidate Colleen Lachowicz, who was attacked in a bizarre electronic lynching by the local Republican campaign for her WoW-playing habits. The site dug up various old posts she’d made about stabbing things in the butt, and poisons, teabagging and the like. The site, which is still up at colleensworld.com, makes entertaining reading for any gamer who understands, like Lachowicz and Maine voters clearly do, that games and reality are two separate things.

Regardless of your political leanings, the attack on a fellow gamer for their hobby seems less than acceptable. And we’re very happy to report that an Orc Rogue is now Senator-Elect of District 25, Maine. Lachowicz posted this on her facebook page this morning:

“Facebook kind of disappeared from view for a little while, but with good reason. With one town of 300 left to report, the results cannot change. I am now the Senator-Elect of District 25 with a total of 8561 to 7545.”

Lok’tar Ogar, friend! For the Horde!

Lachowicz also posted a video on facebook for her gamer friends. As a principally Alliance player I would like to see the faction imbalance in the State Senate houses readdressed as soon as possible.

Hurray for people not being retarded!

I wonder if any alliance players refused to vote for her because she is horde…

  • Emilio Aguinaldo

She’ll pass a Law that all Alliance players shall pay more taxes to the Horde. XD

I can’t believe people translated what she did online in a game to real life. Are we going to bar actors from ever doing anything outside of acting because they played the role of a serial killer (Michael C Hall comes to mind). People are really dumb lol.

  • HappyHansel

Her first official act was a motion to teabag.

they voted for a horde player….. oh dear :-D

Good. Nice to see justice. Their treacherous plan probably backfired in their faces and made Ms Lachowicz more famous and compelling, resulting in her succes. Or at least it didn’t crucify her. Good to read that here in Europe. Today is a good day imho.

    For the Horde!!

Maine made all kinds of news with the election, such a shame this wasn’t reported last night too. :)

Being -from- Maine, the weirdness doesn’t seem to have had much impact. A democrat got elected in a very democrat-heavy district, ousting a tea-partier, by, actually, a much slimmer margin than I would have guessed.

I do agree with Olivia, we need more Alliance in the Senate.

Poetic justice right there my friends.

Good to hear!  Thanks for the update GBTV.

Every now and then people show they’re not complete idiots.   It is nice to see.
