Firefall's Mobile Gaming Unit Puts E-sports On Wheels

E-sports tournaments in a dimly lit, loud, stationary LAN center? That’s so last decade.

E-sports tournaments on a bus? Now you’re talking.

Red 5 Studios will unveil the Mobile Gaming Unit, or MGU, for Firefall at this month’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles, June 29-July 1. The 48-foot-long bus has 20 AMD-powered gaming stations fitted with Razer peripherals, support for 1,000-person LAN parties, and even a shoutcaster podium.

Designed by West Coast Customs, the bus itself looks like a futuristic people-conveyer, all gussied up with the Firefall logo.

In addition to the MGU itself, convention attendees will be able to meet pro cosplayer Crystal Graziano and actor Lee “Hawk” Reherman portraying two of the game’s characters (right) and are also invited to check out the official Firefall manga, written by Orson Scott Card and drawn by UDON.

If you’re going to Anime Expo, are you going to check out the Firefall bus? And how does a mobile e-sports tournament center sound to you?
