11 Bit Studios offers the game at a 50% discount to those who are willing to buy based just on the Secret Game teaser video.
Gamers may feel that game companies as them to take a leap of faith all the time when it comes to buying their games. But, very few companies are ballsy-enough to ask you to buy their game without any idea of what the game actually is. You’d have to feel pretty good about your game to do that… Right?
Well, it seems that 11 Bit Studios — an indie studio out of Warsaw, Poland you may recognize based on their Anomaly titles — feels that way about their upcoming game.
The company released a Secret Game teaser video on YouTube this morning which shows very little about the game.
Post-apocalyptic?
Watching the Secret Game teaser trailer, the only thing I really pull from it is that the human race has apparently messed up and we’re left in a post-apocalyptic world. Two men in has-mat suits roam about a desolate environment
The video also declares this unknown game to be “The most refined, the most stunning, the most challenging game experience from 11 Bit Studios.”
Announcement on Feb 28
That’s right, 11 Bit Studios will be waiting another two weeks to actually tell us what this game is. But, they are hoping that some of us will be brave enough to throw $7.50 at them. And, they plan on rewarding us for said bravery. In addition to getting the game at a discount, 11 Bit Studios will also be giving the brave purchasers access to the multiplayer beta of the game which is expected to begin in late March.
The studio has also promised an extra “gaming gift”. However, they’re being just as secretive about what that gift is as they are about what this game is.
For anyone unwilling to take the plunge and buy a game they don’t know what is, 11 Bit Studios requests that you wait for the announcement but warns that at that point the 50% discount deal will be over.
I have to admit, I’m pretty intrigued. And, I’m almost willing to throw money at them based on their boldness alone.
That said, the team obviously wants to let players get to know more about them, so they also released the first in a series of video developer blogs along with the teaser. You can watch the first one titled, “How to make an indie game?” below.
No.. They don’t tell you any more about the actual game in it. Sorry…
