Arma 3 Gameplay: Countdown To Launch
Video Offers An Hour of Arma 3 Gameplay In Preparation For September 12 Launch.
A video has been released offering an hour of Arma 3 gameplay straight from the Bohemia Interactive offices in Prague. “As our splendid Alpha and Beta development journey is slowly coming to an end, this official broadcast presents a sneak peek at Arma 3‘s release package – and kick-starts the countdown to launch!”
While showing off Arma 3 gameplay, the devs answered questions directly from the Arma 3 forums. They also went to the in-game places they think players will go when they first launch the game.
There is plenty of Arma 3 gameplay to be seen in this sneak peek. It starts off with a Nato faction showcase and a bit of a tour around Altis, where most of the game’s action will take place. Right away you can see some of the big guns in the firing drill. Notice how you get around Altis: the player heads over to a large map that might naturally be a part of any real military base and then goes into the map interface. These are the details that will keep you immersed in this military tactical sim.
The Arma 3 gameplay video shows off weapons, vehicles and aircraft. There are already guides out there teaching players how to use some of what’s available, but here we get pretty specific about tanks and drones. We get a real look at the interface used to control them and see the practical options that can be used. For example, the drone can be converted into backpacks and carried around.
This is a lot of game
“Arma 3 ships with the large open terrains of ‘Altis’ (270 km²) and ‘Stratis’ (20 km²), 12 singleplayer showcases, 3 faction showcases, 9 multiplayer scenarios, 10 firing drill challenges, more than 20 vehicles and 40 weapons, 5 factions, the scenario editor and modding support.”
The campaign will be launched as three free DLC episodes at some point after release. Players have already enjoyed Arma 3 as Alpha and Beta testers, and you can still get in on the action. If you are planning to pick up Arma 3, it is cheaper to buy beta access and then get the full game on release than it is to wait until September 12.
