Ashley Roberts looks pretty awesome in Crysis 3 bodypaint.
If you haven’t already seen the Crysis 3 nanosuit, it’s pretty damned cool looking. That being said, what happens when you combine a slick-looking suit of video game armor with the art of body painting? Well, now you can find out with these pictures of Ashley Roberts in Crysis 3 bodypaint.
Ashley Roberts — most popularly known for being a judge on the reality show Dancing on Ice and a former member of the Pussycat Dolls — spent six hours having paint applied to her body in order to recreate the nanosuit worn by Crysis 3‘s main character Prophet. In the game, the suit transforms Prophet from a mortal into an almost indestructible being set on saving the human race, but who knew it would translate so well into the real world. And as body paint at that.
From a cosplay fan perspective, I’m pretty fascinated with the whole body painting phenomenon. I’ve seen a good amount of it being done — including a parade group (I’ll just let you Google that on your own). I even follow a very lovely model (link may not be safe for work) who often does body paint based photo shoots and they’re always stunning. So, to see a well known image be done so well in the medium is always awesome. The painters deserve a lot of credit for pulling the suit off.
I have to say, too, that Ashley Roberts deserves some points for being willing to sit through a six hour process in order to pull the look off. And, she does a great job of pulling it off too. She really does look like a superhero.
And, for those looking to pick up Crysis 3, the game is out today in North America and Friday in Europe.
