Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Activision is planning on releasing another title in the Call of Duty franchise this fall.

Most likely, a follow-up to the 2010 Call of Duty: Black Ops.

An anonymous source sent an image to Kotaku of an apparent Activision advertising poster. The poster says: “05.02.12. Return For Debriefing” over a picture of a shadowy, gun-wielding man.

pc games Black Ops 2?

May 5 is surely not the release date for a new Call of Duty title, but there is speculation that this is the date a “Black Ops 2” could be announced.

While the poster might or might not be the real deal, it’s safe to assume that Activision is working on an announcement for the next Call of Duty entry. With the current two-year cycle that Activision has on their Modern Warfare installments, releasing a “Black Ops 2” this year would make a lot of sense.

What do you think? Are you excited about the prospect of a sequel to Black Ops? Are you completely over the Call of Duty franchise? Let us know in the comments.

Stay tuned to GAMEBREAKER in the coming weeks for an update on this story.

Mike S. You do know Netflix supported SOPA and now they support CISPA after SOPA was dropped?

as a some what decent FPS player. black ops 1 MP was crap. played maybe 20hrs of that.
have 900hrs on mw3 but haven’t played any in the last 2month. cause game is broken on PC. hackers and cheaters rock IW’s like a lil girl.
plus i dont know how much money did grab from microsoft that all the elite DLC crap.
cause many including myself wont buy it when it has been too long playing same old broken content. and many PC players will think more than twice of buying the next cod game.
all these problems even before going into the gameplay. spawn system/ balance/ casual fav etc.

with that been said. IW’s versions were always better than treyarch’s so that’s another reason to not so rush with that buy.

players will have no problem of buy elite service, but for that to happen they first need to make a good game. and be fair to all the players.

Another CoD, please…. Instead of making one crappy FPS every year, now we have 2 CoD titles per year, both a big crap. thanks…

Stop beating the dead horse Activision. I so wish some one could kill CoD and come up with something new.

C’mon guys, CoD is great. Oh sorry, I meant the game, “Call of Duty”. Every single CoD game after the original CoD 1 shouldn’t have been made.

  • Jado Cast

So, wait, if they started charging for multiplayer in CoD, then many would play F2P games like PlanetSide 2 on PC or games like Halo 4.  I don’t see Activision doing that, i think it would hurt their reputation (not that it’s great to start anyway), and they would lose so many customers.

They’ll probably keep the same release schedule of right around Veteran’s Day, like they have for the past four or five games.  I really just want IW and Treyarch to combine forces on CoD and create a game that has the best of both dev’s games and none of the BS that we all hate.  They could just flip a coin to see if it’s a Black Ops/Special Forces-type single player or a major Armed Forces style single player and then alternate.

To be fair that article is pretty much irrelevant. ”
As far as I can tell, this is simply not true. ” The entire point of  SUPER PAC is to anonymously amass large amounts of money to influence American legislation. This is how democracy works in America you simply buy whatever law your corporation / industry needs. The problem is that if a competing corporation / industry has a larger SUPER PAC they can pay our politicians more than you did and they will get their choice in laws. Netflix can say whatever they like over their official twitter because they don’t have to disclose anything about that SUPER PAC and they would be morons to say anything other than what they did. I don’t have a stake in what you guys do here or what spots you run, I personally don’t care. I will watch gamebreaker regardless because I love the entertainment. Finding some obscure half written article on techdirt will not cut it though I’m afraid. The American political lobbying / legislative purchase system is much more convoluted than that article lends itself to.
