Last week, Ubisoft brought us a stealthy walkthrough of a mission in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
This week we have a look at a more action-oriented approach to being successful in the game.
The amount of weapon customization is going to be kind of insane in Future Soldier. By simply modifying the ammo types for his shotgun and his Mk48, the featured player becomes instantly way more lethal. The bombastic weaponry used in this vid is a far cry from the loadout featured in the stealth walkthrough, further highlighting how you can customize the game to fit your particular play style.
It seems that the increased firepower comes at the cost of fancy futuristic gadgets; this action walkthrough doesn’t feature any tech as cool as the drone we saw last week. Perhaps it’s a balancing issue, as having such explosive weaponry AND fancy futuristic technologies could take away some of the challenge of the game.
Then again, maybe Ubisoft just wanted to show that Future Soldier can be played like your run-of-the-mill third person shooter, should that be how you choose to play it.
The run-and-gun technique certainly seems like an effective strategy in the Future Soldier, albeit not nearly as interesting to watch as last week’s stealthy gameplay.
The Ghost Recon: Future Soldier open beta started today for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 users. The full game comes out on May 22 for the aforementioned consoles, and on June 12 for PC.
