Reality shows would be more fun if they included live weapons and ammunition.
That’s what Sony Online Entertainment is thinking with Bullet Run, an upcoming lobby-based FPS, set in the near future when people kill each other on TV for fame and fortune, forming and breaking alliances at will… kinda like The Hunger Games, but without the teenage girls.
Not that you couldn’t make a teenage girl. SOE promises “thousands of options to customize your character” for the free-to-play shooter, in which style will count just as much as marksmanship — gotta keep those ratings high, after all.
Other features promised in the game include:
- Active reload: When you hit reload a circular interface appears. If you hit it just right your weapon loads much faster.
- Up to 20 contestants per match
- Eight unique kill skills
- Nemesis system and taunts, to really rub in your victories
- Six arenas
- Free to play with optional membership
Hey, maybe this reality TV/shooting match isn’t such a bad idea — Snooki, watch out.
Bullet Run is currently in closed beta and is scheduled to go live summer of 2012.
