Diablo III is within sight but have you picked your class?
Each week Blizzard are giving us a little insight into the classes to help us decide. We have Demon Hunter and Barbarian videos here for us to take a quick dive into.
The Barbarian is D3′s warrior. They can be the big hulking figure garnished with heavy armor and huge weapons. Or perhaps more like The Dothraki – Dragon Lady’s people in Game Of Thrones — come to mind when you picture the Barbarian.
In the preview video, Blizzard give a small background on the Barbarian lore. People from a destroyed empire desperately fighting for their reason to live. Highlighting that when you take someone’s home land from them they have nothing left to lose — making them extremely dangerous.
The Barbarian is as you would expect; a heroic, leaping, cleaving monster. The class radiates power and presence, using its fury to ignite the battle field. The class’ mechanics revolve around destruction, the more you destroy the more powerful you become, your fury bar fills up and when it peaks you become a killing machine.
If in your face smashing and crashing is your thing, then the Barbarian has your name all over it.
The stalker of the night, demons are her playthings. In the following video, the Demon Hunter hits the scene.
The preview video highlights a character with a background of hellish experiences. Her hatred of the demons of the Burning Hells is palpable. The Demon Hunter is a weapon in herself, utilizing all her skills in an unstoppable arsenal.
The Demon Hunter’s combat revolves around ranged weapons and utilities, unlike the Barbarian they prefer to keep a good distance as they take their prey. With a fast array of ranged skills, tactical items such as grenades and their own personal mobility, the Demon Hunter truly is a fearsome foe. Pulling from their hatred and discipline, they control the flow of battle at their own pace, feeling the demon crumble is their fuel but make sure you do not lose yourself as discipline is what can separate life and death.
If stalking the shadows and ambushing your prey from afar is your cup of tea, then it’s time to roll Demon Hunter.
