Diablo III is definitely one of the most anticipated titles of the year and is one of the highest pre-ordered as well.
In the Activision Blizzard conference call, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime stated that Diablo 3 was Blizzards highest ever pre-ordered title, dwarfing the return of the StarCraft IP with Wings Of Liberty and smashing the third World Of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm.
Its no secret that people have been waiting a long time for the third installment of Diablo, a fair few years in fact.
The pre-orders don’t come as much of a surprise when you think about it, but Morhaime also states that the Annual Pass holders that get D3 free are also included in this figure.
So 1,200,000 copies are already confirmed to be pre-ordered with the Annual Pass taking them past how many WoL units got sold in the first day!
With the Annual Pass securing over one million units sold for a game that isn’t even out this is sure to be a Blizzards new way to market a game.
Mists Of Pandaria in the next Annual pass? *tin foil hat*
