BREAKING NEWS:

Blizzard VP Chris Metzen took to the stage at Sony’s Playstation event today in New York City. Metzen announced that Blizzard Activision have gone into a strategic partnership with Sony and will be releasing Diablo 3 on both the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.

What does this partnership mean for Titan? We will have to wait for more details pertaining to this partnership.

I did have the first Diablo on the PS1, I cant remember how attacking worked now that I’m thinking about it, but I do remember playing it a lot with my friend and having a blast, hell we bought and extra memory card for that game because saving took like 15 block to save a game.

  from all the shenanigans in that event the only thing that was big was the capability to stream the PS4 games to the PS Vita, similar to what the WII U does with their new controller. but it was very lacking in anything good tbh

    I completely disagree with you about the event lacking in anything good. It was a very good event and they showed a lot of nice things about what the PS4 is capable of and some stuff you can expect to see on it.

Heart stopped and I thought it was Titan or something new… but yeah… In the gametrailers interview they mentioned a few new features like a dodge roll button, using the touchpad, and controlling the char with a stick.

Man, let me tell you…hopes and dreams were created and lost in a matter of seconds. At first I was like…’no way..they are about to sell me a ps4!’ and then there was d3… Ps4 looks good still but blizz had me on the edge of my seat for a couple seconds.

As if I needed another reason to not be excited about the PS4. Diablo 3 is a year old now, year and half close to two years old by the time the NEW consoles come out…how is this a key point PS4 wanted to make?
Blizz returning to console making, I guess THATS the actual big news, not specifically the game they are coming back with. But Blizz returning to console has been news we knew and have been expecting for quite some time.
This news and announcement is luke-warm to me at best.

I literally laughed out loud when this was announced. I now see how silly I was to hope for a new IP from Blizzard, or even a resurrection (heh) of Ghost.

If nothing else, this did two things.

1. Finally confirm that it’s moving to console and provide final proof being some of the rumored explanations behind a lot of the mechanical/system changes to D3 that have “dumbed it down” for lack of a better term.

2. Provide me with endless tears on the official forums. That place is a damn mess, and it’s absolutely hilarious to lurk.

Well played Blizzard. You’ll continue to make money hand over fist (especially as most of these irate consumers who now write you off will be buying their second copy of D3 soon) and have generated many, many lulz for a lot of us. For once, thanks <3

  Blizzard is rivaled only by the godfather of gaming Nintendo in game quality, Blizz games on consoles is a ploy by Sony to beat Nintendo this time around ( there is no telling how much they pay Blizz for this port). Will it work? No because console players don’t have the respect for Diablo and Blizz that the PC Master Race does.

  They have. Starcraft on N64 was abysmal to attempt to play in any real context. There is absolutely no way it could ever go pro due to the nature of joystick interfacing. Also, if you’ve ever tried to use a controller for an MMO through emulators or even natively supported ones (like Tera), mouse and keyboard are so much more superior, speaking from WoW type MMO’s. So no, they won’t be doing ports as it’s a different animal than say Darksiders or Call of Duty. Games that are ported that way are either made for consoles specifically and port naturally to PC, or require a controller on PC (like Dark Souls). Titan, however, may be developed with that in mind, if it was a shooter. It may even be cross platform, perhaps. Although that would be unlikely as well, since again, the nature of joystick interfacing requires auto aiming as you can never be as accurate as with a mouse. Alternatively, if they took out auto aiming, PC gamers would have a huge advantage with a potentially higher skill cap.

Can’t move your PSN games over to the PS4! WOOOOOO I am a screw consoles guy as I think they hold game design back and put what you can do into a certain box.

Also, thank god blizz is release maybe the worst game ever on consoles! What and announcement!

Smart move by Blizzard considering the market of gamer’s that want games that can be played over ALL platforms and on all devices. Not so MMO if only half the mmo market is console and the other half is PC. Cross over mixing is the future and D3 was the simple / smart choice as a testing ground and cash grab. If they only stay to PC with the way the trend is shifting, then they will be left in the dust.

I can seed a future where i am chilling on a long cross country ride playing WoW style & scale games from a mobile platform / chatting with peeps over facebook while friends or family check my profile to track my location in my journey.

Chist Metzen just doesn’t dance around his words and think what he is that carefully say the PR statement. I have feeling that either Titan could be ideal for console as well as for PC. Blizzard had to go with Sony. Because with Xbox they won’t be allow sameday update content for both console and PC. Blizzard isn’t about giving those on Xbox 6 month earlier updates and PC guys get it 6 months later.

So a partnership means that continuous joint effort to work together. t could just mean just with Diablo III and all it’s expansions. Personally I’m happy that Blizzard chosen Sony. Secrete of Xbox is that they kill gaming This exclusive deal traps developers to make stuff only for one side fans while not all gamers can afford both console or give a lesser quality game for other. Skyrim one the worse feeling on the PC even though it was sexier as we had wait 6 months for the DLC ruining my game experience! I’m personally tired of this crap. Now I know why any PC exclusive game company chooses Sony over Xbox like EVE, Blizzard, and etc.
