Diablo 3 Open Beta has ended.

May 15 is the date many of us are praying to come faster.

Sanctuary needs its heroes, or it will most likely fall to the forces of evil. Many of us spent hours on end waiting to gain access to the D3 beta, as it was a weekend of bugs and errors.

In the time spent trying to fix issues, many people could have actually completed the beta. Frustration is the most mannered way to put how people reacted over all the problems, but in the end patience rewarded many players.

For an open beta it wasn’t very open to begin with, but players hopefully all got themselves into the game to beat demons down!

I got to play my beloved Wizard class finally, maybe when launch comes around Ill give the other classes a shot, but for now Im 100% Wizard!

Did you get to play the beta this weekend?

If so let us know how it went and — if you’re like me — how much May 15 won’t came fast enough!

I played and man it was awesome. I ended up loving monk the most and it wasn’t even one of my top choices. Demon Hunter and Barbarian was awesome as well.

barbarian feels amazing…. brute force, spell for WD are cool but I don’t feel this mambo jumbo africa style…. I want classic corrupted necro mofo… Only thing is totaly lame is looks of chars, It’s LAME that they look like quake 1 in polycount… It’s total bs.

I was pretty disappointed in the beta.  The errors/bugs were to be expected but what disappointed me was a combination of the graphics when set to max and the extremely simplified gameplay (imo).  I felt like D3 was a step back from D2.  The whole time I was playing, about 5 hours to give different classes a shot, I kept thinking to myself, this is playing/feeling like a console port.  It felt really dumbed down and limited.  The beta definitely convinced me NOT to buy at release, which was exactly the opposite reaction I thought I would have going into the beta.  When I want my Diablo fix, it’s back to D2 for me.

“but what disappointed me was a combination of the graphics when set to max and the extremely simplified gameplay (imo). ”

i completely agree, and you can feel the console port indeed, but you have to remember that they have stated many times that normal is just an introduction to the game when the game gets harder and you have to really think about what you are doing and start utilizing your skills more then the gameplay might feel a bit more complex, i already have d3 from the AP deal so i don´t have to think about it and i do look forward to it! we shall see how it evolves!

I don’t understand why people are complaining. Diablo is about farming.

Played all the classes but I have been in the beta a while, was boring solo with only the first chapter, on the weekend I really enjoyed running around with 3 mates playing our classes, we have decided to play on Hardcore mode once a week as a group to see how we go, for me I enjoyed the Barb but over all I will be playing the Monk class. Having the ability to heal people close is good.

I felt as though the Wizard and Demon Hunter were just a little too strong and thus lacked the enjoyment of the challenge of the game. Having characters wiped each time was good though for the beta, made me try out different classes. I feel as though the graphics can be improved on the characters, same as others I felt these were low quality. Public games I found enjoyable as well, easy to find a game, quick to join and no one was a douche.

Crafting – Well, unless you have friends trading gold this is really expensive and maybe should have some of the costs lowered, once you’ve been playing a while it won’t matter of course, but I was leveling it during the beta just to see what we could make, the gear actually seems very useful which was surprising.

Overall I enjoyed the beta weekend with my friends, really looking forward to the game release and already have that sucker pre-loaded on my PC, If you didn’t know and did the 12month WOW sub, you can pre-load D3 from your Battlenet account.

Really? Gamebreaker TV has become a bunch of bottomfeeders who specialized in making a living on criticizing and plain badmouthing Blizzard. I’d expect some imparciality and journalistic fairness in a game dedicated webpage, instead i get a bunch of internet celebrity wannabes that come here and badmouth everything blizzard does. Shame on you.

Did you even watched the whole thing? yes they criticize  stuff, they talk about stuff the community was feeling and what they thought of the beta.. how is this badmouthing, you sad much? this was a nice short re-cap of how the beta was, nothing else! zup fanboi!

Im sorry if my first impression was that Im bad mouthing Blizzard.

The main reason I put that side of that into this article is because I have been going fanboy crazy over D3 in the past couple of weeks, I seriously cannot wait :P
Ive had people openly criticize how I need to calm down on the D3 love so I just tried to level it out a bit more
Plus Im sure anyone else — no matter how big a Diablo fann — would have screamed blue murder over all the login issues this weekend, the main reason there was so much hate is because there was so much anticipation for this beta.

First time I got to play the Diablo 3 beta.  I had a great time.  There were a few bugs and it looks like they squashed most of them.  I totally going to play Monk at launch!

    • http://twitter.com/_Caltu_ Callum Lawrence

let me know how the Monk plays, Im probably going to just rub my face all over the Wizard and Barbarian :D

Its an OPEN BETA people! Its merely a taste of the game so Bilzzard can sense the servers and gameplay functions etc… I think the actual game release will be everything and more that D3 is cracked up to be so those per-determined game haters out there need to relax. Also, I would think that the 20-40 min beta download in the first place should have been some kinda clue….
