Diablo 3 Open Beta!

Yes this time I am not messing with you, after the debacle that happened over the past few days it seems that Blizzard took a 360 and have opened the flood gates for this weekend.

From now until Monday anyone can get their hands on Diablo 3.

Just create a Battletag — for which you’ll need a Battlenet account — jump in, grab that beta and go crazy!

Im currently waiting at the log-in screen so as soon as it hits 12:01PST I will be jamming that launch button.

So what are you waiting for?

Well I suppose if you’re a fan of TERA it may be a slight sting now that your beta weekend has been hijacked by the most anticipated game of the past twelve years.

Make your choice now, will you be playing Diablo III or TERA?

Sanctuary is waiting you hero. Grab your weapons and fire up the magics of the old time, for battle is upon us.

Though fair warning, the servers been absolutely rammed, with reports of many eager players being unable to get in-game.

i totally support caltu. i gave tera another try. played up to level 5. said this is crap.
graphics amazing good job on that. gameplay crap. just stand and spam 1 button dodge.
C9 beta has way better game play than tera. and C9 is going to be a free game with cashshop.
so sorry to say tera’s state “best action MMO” no sir. not even close.

Eh atm this probably doesnt matter since diablo 3 at the time of thise posting is unable to be played by the majority since servers are full. Blizzard are still working on stability, services issues.
So i doubt many people will be test/play it today.

The way people describe d3 so far seems like its some big mmo. Espically since they made it online play only, And having to stress test servers and all that.

I actually logged into the Tera beta first to see the new prologue. I didn’t play much past it though.

And I’d have loved to try out Diablo 3 if it were not spazzing out on me due to some unresolved bug. Looks like I won’t be playing either beta for now.

D3 beta is like 2 hours… I played Tera, it’s ok, very asian kinda funny, nice combat and what i rly love is that race where you can look like deathwing

A lot of Blizzard’s moves seem to target Tera which seems extremely weird because Tera is a small company with low reach. Activision-Blizzard probably spends more on marketing during a quarter than Bluehole is worth.

The whole asian theme of the expansion, the pandaren, the “action combat” of monks, the armor on mobs in MoP, the fact that they had D3′s launch close to Tera. Not open beta of D3 coinciding with Tera open beta. Looks like Blizzard knows a good product when it sees it.

About no one playing Tera, their servers are medium to full. My servers starting zone has more than 60 channels. On Twitch there are just as many people watching Tera streams are they are watching D3 streams.

  Blizzard doesn’t give a damn about Tera. This just happens to be a coincidence. All your conspiracy insinuations are silly. I also find it funny that you always say fan hype is always to blame when people claim other games are better/more popular than Tera. What do you do in every comments section about any other game along with Tera? Claim that Tera is better. Hype much? You like Tera, everyone here knows this by now. In my opinion, Diablo 3 is superior to Tera.

      Diablo 3 will blow Tera out of the water in sales, it has way too big of a cult following for Tera to ever be able to compete. Not to speak of the fact that Tera is a boring peice of crap korean grind game(speaking from personal experience), what Diablo 3 doesn’t do to hurt Tera Guild Wars 2 will.

        I agree D3 will blow Tera out of the water in terms of sales. It is a popular IP and the game is 10 years in the making from a well like developer. No one is disagreeing with that.

        When I buy the game the money goes to NCSoft. Although I bought GW2 I fell guilty supporting NCSoft after Aion and Tabula Rasa.

I’d take Tera over D3, not interested in the game, looks like a mindless hack n’ slash, and being from blizzard i doubt will be that deep, dungeon crawls are my least fav part of any mmo, why would I play an entire game like that, and without the open world social part that gives it meaning?

I don’t see how two completely different games can “clash”.
My personal opinion is that Torchlight 2 will be better than D3 and carry more of the original Diablo spirit and I have not thus far enjoyed Diablo 3. Most of the magic seems to be lost.

Anyway TERA and Diablo 3 are not mutually exclusive games. Is this yellow journalism I smell?

Everybody complains about Tera leveling and being grindy and what not but what about WoW? I am sure many of these complainers play WoW or the “clones” and how is it any different? I mean even at endgame you grind dungeons for hours on end, dailies and then raids are prettty much the same scripted thing everytime.

Then on gear dependent PvP with so many counter comp/classes is more paper rock scissors than skill. I am not too fund of Tera either, I think they have could’ve done some QoL improvements with gameplay/combat. The devs with Tera seem to be doing good, responding to community, in my eyes though puts them on the chart for future considerations.

Still though GW2 seems to be taking every bad thing out of the typical MMO experience and just so heavily developed with detail, its going to be hard to want to look at Tera when GW2 comes out. Tera is a good niche in the MMO field for people, this year we will have many choices outside of a WoW experience or rehash of it.

D3 provides you very little I feel. No reason to play D3 now. Just play D3 at release. I do not think DIablo 3 is worth it all that much during the beta.

I’m so uninterested in D3. never understood the appeal of this type of games. they are so incredibly tedious after few hours. On the other had I got bored of TERA within few hours too. Still it shouldn’t be hard for people to try both.

These games are two different genres. Having open betas on the same weekend means nothing imho. It’s Blizzard’s SoP to launch a stress test with less than a month to go before release. I’ve never played D1 or D2 (don’t stone me) and my husband was hoping I’d enjoy D3 because I am… an MMO gamer. I personally love it.

Feels all Fox News up in here. I need a shower.

Yea I played the D3 beta for like 15 hours this weekend. Was awesome and I got the Overachiever Achievement. Was a blast and it’s only the first Act.
