While Bethesda Softworks‘ teased reveal for today wasn’t an announcement of Skyrim DLC or an expansion, like many expected, we’re still not disappointed.

Instead, the company revealed the debut trailer for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, a new PC game that appears to combine first-person hand-to-hand action and assassination with supernatural powers, set in a dystopian future run by an oppressive regime.

Envision it as the bastard love child of Assassin’s Creed and Bioshock.

The Dishonored website offers a little more info on the game: you’re the Empress’s former elite bodyguard, who now stands framed for her murder. You’ve got a vast array of gadgets and mystical powers at your disposal, and you can choose to embrace nobility or savagery through your actions — i.e., a morality system: “Decide your approach for each mission, and the outcomes will change as a result.”

There’s no release date for Dishonored, but this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
