“You’ve infiltrated the Boyle Mansion, but things have gone poorly and the City Watch is on your tail. What do you do?”

That’s the set-up for a new video from Bethesda Sofworks and Arkane Studios, highlighting the different escape options available to players in the upcoming stealth-action game Dishonored. Three options are presented, with varying levels of bloodiness:

  • The Long Jump, where Corvo uses his blink power to teleport around the area like a jackrabbit, evading the authorities — mostly.
  • Sleep Tight, where a little time stoppage and some well placed crossbow bolts make for a bloodier escape.
  • Chain Possession, where Corvo takes over various people to make his way out and to the river, eventually settling on a fish. Yes, a fish.

So, which of these three options suits you the best?

The gameplay seems pretty cool for this. But I keep getting hit by this art style and it throws me off.

I don’t know what the name of this art style is, but it’s similar to the art style of Chronicles of Spellborn (yes I had to search online for 10 minutes just to remember the name of the game..)

It seems to be some art style exclusive to Europe or maybe just Britain, but it looks slightly off in a way that disturbs me and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to approach this game or not.

I want to be excited for thos game, I really do, but something is holding me back. Is ot going to be acheap Bioshock ripoff and if not then how expansive is the open world element? Something tells me this game is not going to sell well. You know what got me really worried is during E3 when the Gannonator said Dishonoured was a yawn.

So far we have seen those guard type mobs and those walkers with knife combat and some interesting powers…But what about the story and atmosphere those were essential to Bioshock will thia game have those? I dunno but if I’m stuck with that knife and no machine gun I’m out.

same here, it’s like there’s something off about dishonor i dont know what is it.
i mean the abilities is cool and all, and i like it but there’s something…

idk maybe it’s because i’m not the steampunk fan? i cannot go long with bioshock either.

I think it’s the character art style. The only other game I can think of with this art style. Chronicles of Spellborn, flopped too.

Whatever the reason, I get the feeling also. It’s just…almost…but not…

A fish?  Okaaaaay.  I wasn’t expecting that kind of possession mechanic.

I have to agree with other people commenting on the art style.   There is something off about it, perhaps that was done on purpose to convey the dsytopian world but that kind of art design decision shouldn’t be carried to point that it pushes players away.   Or maybe their character artists just make weird looking people lol
