It looks like the first DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be on the way very soon.
CVG has revealed that a recent update for the game is packed with all sorts of mysterious elements, none of which exist in the base Skyrim game as of yet. The assets, included in the curiously named “DLC01″ folder in update 1.5.26 include references to snow elves, a snow elf princess, crossbows, and new vampire animations.
The name “Dawnguard” has been bandied about since Bethesda‘s parent company filed a trademark for it last month, leading many to believe it would be the name of a new piece of content. “Dawnguard” certainly sounds like something that could be related to vampires, making the new animations that much more relevant.
In any case, it would seem unlikely that Dawnguard, or any significant DLC package, would be free; most DLC packs for Oblivion cost between $0.99 and $2.99, with Knights of the Nine going for $9.99.
A few bucks is probably a small price to pay, and we’ll be looking forward to any future announcements — which could be coming very soon.
