“Diablo is back”

They are the chilling words that will be gracing our television sets as the Diablo III hype train makes its way to television.

The time is getting so close now, I can almost smell the fires of hell burning.

Blizzard have always bought themselves great television spots for all of their game releases. I remember the Cataclysm TV spot following a Champions League game in the UK — the biggest football tournament in Europe — being shown, it was so awesome to see the game that I love taking that leap into the mainstream audience that Blizzard are set to captivate.

You can expect to see this new TV spot following all the biggest programs right now, Blizzard have never let us down before. So as you are sitting watching the latest Game Of Thrones and the Diablo III advert comes on, you have my permission to go absolutely barmy.

Today marks the end of the beta and we are finally there, after the years of waiting for that announcement in Paris, after the years of waiting from that announcement and in general just waiting, we are on the home straight.

Beta down, mainstream advertising up.

Diablo III here I come.

Game of Thrones is on HBO…no commercials. You probably don’t even watch Game of Thrones! You’re a phoney! A big fat phoney!

A Song of Ice and Fire, great series and the same goes for the HBO show.

My one gripe with Diablo 3 is fact that the core fundamentals of the game have been ripped out. You get a compelling story, solid controls, Diablo style combat, but no RPG style character development. Removal of stat allocation, rune system, the skill allocation system, and the delay to PvP, all of this waters down the game.

I know many will devoutly claim they were a broken system that people did not enjoy (I personally did enjoy making a minor stat change to further my goals end game) but the reason why Diablo 2 was so great was the control of the character. I will still buy the game because I wish to see where the story goes, but I feel Blizzard is trying to mesh two very different game styles together. Time will tell if the choices they made will have as much impact as the original to Diablo 2.

Diablo 3 is going to a great RPG there is character customization with the gear, skills, and perks, the stats allocation was really bad because you where forced to pick certain stats for  a certain build and i am glad in diablo 3 you can test any build you want every playthrough you do it will make the game more fun

You’ve never been forced to pick anything. Perhaps there were optimal stat allocation builds, but you weren’t required to follow them. I know I’m going to enjoy the game, but I wish they allowed us more choice.

Well dude, is Game of Thrones shown on HBO in the UK ? Seems from his writing that he watches TV in the UK.
