Cyanide Studio — the same group behind the upcoming Game of Thrones RPG — announced today that they are working on a PC-exclusive Blood Bowl spin-off called Dungeonbowl. The game’s Facebook page posted the first official screenshots.

Like Blood Bowl, Dungeonbowl is based on an existing table top game centered around fantasy races playing good-ole’ American football.

The game will be turn-based, with movements dictated by dice rolls. The ball is hidden in one of numerous treasure chests,  the other chests are booby trapped.

Good luck with that.

Dungeonbowl is set to release sometime in the second quarter of 2012. Stay tuned to GAMEBREAKER.tv for more information.

There isn’t going to be a lot new tech for Dungeonbowl – it will just be a slightly different mechanics with the same art as Blood Bowl at my guess.

Blood Bowl is an awesome game and the Cynide adaptation to the pc is pretty good – back in beta it had some major issues interface/control issues, but most of those have been sorted out.

BTW Blood Bowl (versus Dungeon Bowl) has a lot more in common with NFL … except well you can choose to ignore the ball and just pound the opposition into the dust!

Well, it wasn’t really untill they released Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition, that they manage to iron out most of the bugs. The fact that they stopped patching Blood Bowl (vanilla if you want), and made LE instead, leaving the game with one of the longest buglists I’ve seen for month, so they could make even more money, have caused me to be very concerned everytime Cyanide is involved in a game. :-(
I really hope that Game of Thrones turns out great, but sadly, I think it will end like all the other games, a half done program, and when they got your money they don’t care about it anymore.
