The free weekend only includes the multiplayer aspect of the game. No word on if it’s just competitive multiplayer or also MW3‘s Spec Ops mode.
Competitive multiplayer has always been the draw with the Modern Warfare games, so it’s a good opportunity for those who are on the fence to try the game out before spending $60.
On the other hand, MW3 has been out for almost six months, so anyone who has really wanted to play it has probably already purchased a copy.
How many people haven’t tried the multiplayer mode in a Call of Duty game? I’m betting not very many, so I don’t imagine this free weekend will bolster MW3 sales by much.
Are you excited by the free Modern Warfare 3 weekend? Maybe you’re too busy looking forward to the next CoD game.
