It’s not chocobo racing, but Square Enix and Bigpoint have announced their collaborative project.
It’s called Gameglobe, and it’s being billed as a browser-based game platform where players can create their own adventure games or just play the likely thousands that other players will undoubtedly make. It promises to make the tools available to create content in minutes, or to lose yourself in your creations for hours.
Currently in beta, Gameglobe will utilize HD graphics and is being developed by Hapti.co, a Danish studio operating under the Square Enix umbrella that recently adapted Square Enix’s Mini Ninjas to Google’s native client.
Details are pretty sparse at the moment, but it seems almost certain that Gameglobe will be free-to-play and be targeted toward casual and creative gamers on the Bigpont portal. One GBTV staffer referred to it as “LittleBigPlanet for the browser.”
What do you think? Does Gameglobe sound like something you’ll find yourself spending an embarrassing amount of time playing around with? Let us know!
