Here we are again boys and girls, another game breaking glitch in Diablo III has been made public, with the revelation that the Immortal Wizard bug from June is still active. The claims circulating about it being hotfixed are… well… wrong.
While I won’t go into details as to how to reproduce the glitch, I personally jumped on my wizard and tested it. I was able to demonstrate firsthand that it has not been hotfixed like other people are claiming, and that the glitch is still alive and kicking.
What does this mean? It means a wizard could stomp their way to glory without dying once. It means that a less than scrupulous individual could farm their way to a fortune. In Gold or Real Money.
This is an issue that should have been addressed when it was found, though I can understand how it would be difficult to fix. There are now factors involving real human world cash money that has the potential to alienate a lot of players.
I’m not telling you to do it, I’m not telling you not to do it. There have been multiple reports that the issue had been fixed, and Blizzard has known about it for a long time. Hopefully now that it is so public it will actually get fixed. If that means breaking the set of abilities that make this exploit work, then so be it. They did this with Mantra of Healing; when monks were spamming 4 to glory during the first week of launch, they added a cooldown to the Mantra of Evasion rune Divine Protection so a group of 4 monks couldn’t chain it.
Break it, fix it, do what you have to do Blizzard. Let’s just hope that this, amongst other issues, doesn’t drive more people away from the game.
We will keep you updated as to what happens with this.
Let us know what you guys think about this whole wizardly mess.
