Assassin's Creed: Revolution Will Release Later On The PC
19 Comments

Thanks to some observant reporters at Eurogamer, we have learned that Ubisoft‘s next foray into the Assassin’s Creed franchise will release a bit later on PC than we expected.

As far as we knew up to this point, the PC version of Assassin’s Creed III would be released at the same time as the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 3oth; however, the European cover art of the game tells us that the PC version will not be released until November 23rd. It is quite possible that this will only affect the European customers, but this still begs the question, “Why the delay?”

Unfortunately, the most that Ubisoft could say was that the PC version’s release date is still “to be announced.”

As PC gamers, do you believe that this kind of delay helps or hurts a game’s sales in the long run?

Not really surprising since the PC versions have been released later than the console versions the other times so it was to be expected

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO T_T

Sigh, Ubisoft further proves for me to distrust them with anything.  Their lack of realization that their disbelief in the PC version is all due to them and not the consumer.  I feel they merely hurt their product to all PC players and they grow more and more distant from Ubisoft and could care less what the company has to offer due to them constantly short changing every PC player.

I fear that Watch Dog, while appearing to be focused PC development first, will eventually receive the same treatment and be mal-developed due to short sighted ideas that have been seen in most Ubisoft development regarding PC.

This is Ubisoft just being Ubisoft.  I was planning on buying this for the story, but chances are someone is going to ruin it for me as most of the people I talk to are gamers.  If the story is ruined for me, I wont bother.

Wow, what a shocker! /end sarcasm

Yeah, I’ve gotten used to the series being delayed again for the pc.
At least I’m doing a very good job at not watching any more videos of AC3 from now on, to have the fresh feeling when I start to play it.
I’ll just ignore it and be “christmas morning”-happy when it arrives at my doorstep :)

Or like me you already own both a 360 and a PS3 + a kick ass hardcore gaming PC rig so you don’t care if something is released first on some of the 3 as you can just pick ans choose.

    This saddens me greatly.

Didnt this happen with AC:Revolations and Brotherhood? The PC versions were released a month later

    • http://twitter.com/MrSunrock Sunrock

Yes even the first AC was released later to PC… Think it was like 6 months even.

Not at all a surprise. It is, after all, Ubisoft.

Well if this is true then I’m gonna cancel my pre-order. I’m tired of Ubisoft treating the PC gamers like crap.

    • Revanhavoc

It’s cuz all you PC gamers are pirates duh

      • Xample

They sure are making the decision of pirating their game much easier for PC gamers.

  • Revanhavoc

Hey you guys listen to my conspiracy theory:

They are holding it back for PC to force people with both PC and a console to buy the game for console instead of having to wait for PC release, which they expect to be universally pirated.

    Totally makes sense to me.

    (Me too.)

I like Assassin’s Creed on the console then the PC. So it doesn’t bother me because I had no intention of getting it on the PC.

I guess if I was planning on getting it for the PC I supposed I would be a little irritated.

  • Randall_Wolfcry

What are they paid off by the dying console companies to delay it for PC? Fucking obsolete console companies.

Its just as easy to pirate games for consoles, sometimes even easier, that they are holding it back because of piracy is BS, my guess is that they are paid off or some such, but i dont know, not sufficient data. but I am very dissapointed that this happens so often, I own a legit 360 (ive bought more than one because of rrod and such) but if a game comes for PC I go for PC everytime since my PC is just about twice as strong as the current consoles. not to mention SSD, SSD alone does it for me, the loading times on the 360 is just GAH!!

Played all from AC on the PS3 so far and won’t change that for the next one. I think it used to be, or is, still common that console games will be released a bit later for PC? Or maybe I’m still a bit in my Zombie blurriness caused by strange dreams…
