A while back, we told you about a contest Maxim Magazine and Virgin Gaming are running to find the ultimate gamer girl. At the time I was a little surprised that WoW gamer and YouTube personality TradeChat seemed to be tromping over the competition.
Well, as it turns out, what we were watching was just the entry round of the contest, meaning that up until a few days ago, girls were still allowed to enter themselves in the contest. What this also means is that starting on June 1, voting begins anew. As of now, Maxim has pulled the page with all the girls on it, and has a holding page in it’s place.
However, I did snag a pic of the top five list before the page was changed. You can see that TradeChat was pretty far ahead of the other girls — nearly 50,000 votes ahead of model Megan Retzlaff.

The rest of the top five is rounded out by GotGame News Live host Raychul, Sony Playstation The Tester season 3 finalist Krysti Pryde and adult film star Alana Evans.
While it was unclear in the rules, I do believe that the scores will be reset to null for the next round of the contest and all the girls will have to work their way back up the ladder. This may give the competition a chance to even out some, although it does seem likely that everyone who had voted previously will apply their votes to the same girl in the next round.
**Edit** It has been pointed out to me that as for the second round there will be no public voting.
