Valve‘s Team Fortress 2 fans rejoice, as the last of the “Meet the team” video series has finally released the pyro video.

It appears that the pyro is just a misunderstood psychotic killer who sees everything as a bright colorful world where all the enemies are little flying babies with big heads.

If you have not seen Valve’s video series, it is definitely something to watch.

The videos take a class from the game and flesh out the character by using comedic antiques and gameplay to show off this class.

With this last video are you folks happy to finally to see the pyro video, or are you sad to know that this could be the last video from the TF2 team? Leave a comment below and let us know!

oh I’m sure they’ll produce more…they made that “Meet the Sandvich” video in between a couple of the character ones (I can’t remember off-hand if they did any other non-character ones) and even though just about the whole video was just an interior shot of a fridge, they got so much entertainment value in there.  But the character videos…oh my god…they infuse so much character and humor into them.  Anyways, I could easily see them doing some other little side stories or videos for other items they introduce.

What excited me even more was the Source Filmmaker.  Having studied animation in school, I just about fell out of my chair when I looked up the Source Filmmaker video and all that it has to offer: access to professional models, rigs, sounds, effects, rendering, even access to the animation library, all with an (up to now) proprietary program…ALL FREE.  Yes, you’re “limited” to TF2 content, but they also said that if you know how to use the workshop modding tools, you can make all your own assets to work with.  Anyway, I immediately applied for the beta when I got home, and hope to get access to fiddle around with it as soon as possible.

The movie is probably their best one yet, but sadly the game is getting more random every day. I guess it’s the CS formula applied to TF: Make it possible to kill anyone with a single random hit, and bad players are more likely to stick with the game (and buy hats…).

Unfortunately it pretty much killed TFC, which has far better gameplay, but (now) nearly always empty servers.

    P.S. – What’s a “comedic antique” ? Rodney Dangerfield?

With the Second Annual Saxxys coming out in the future and with the film maker at the end of the year, I can see an entire community of people making incredible short stories and films that will expand the use of the workshop and the game’s popularity.
