Though I know I should be wary, still I venture someplace scary, ghostly haunting I turn loose. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, BEETLEJUICE!!!!!!!
It’s time for some made in Minecraft goodness and I’ve got something really cool for you — a Minecraft Beetlejuice roller coaster. The coaster — which was built by Rivergrl21 and Nuropsych1 — was built in XBox 360 creative mode and took the duo two months to complete.
The coaster is a great tribute to the Tim Burton film and features the director’s trademark surreal look — taking the rider through several locations in the film. It also pulls a bit of design aesthetic from the animated series as well. Those of you who get any kind of motion sickness might want to keep this in mind, due to the patterns involved in the video.
Fans of the movie will recognize key places and characters carefully rendered by the creators. You’ll see both the film and animated versions of Lydia Deetz and Betelgeuse as well as the “scary faces” that Barbara and Adam Maitland make to frighten the Deetzes away. There’s also a pretty well done black-and-white likeness of Betelgeuse tormenting the Deetzes interior designer, Otho.
You will also get to see the Maitland house, the strange desert filled with sandworms, a bit of the underworld and more. In fact, Rivergirl21 and Nuropsych1 did a pretty decent job of following the story of the movie when making the Minecraft Beetlejuice roller coaster.
If you’re a fan of Beetlejuice, I definitely suggest you take the time to watch this. It’s an amazing bit of nostalgic fun. And, if you like this build, it’d probably be wise to take a peek at the other videos on Nuropsych1’s YouTube page.
And, as always, let us know what you think. Do you enjoy builds like these? Are there others you like more? If so, which ones? Drop your comments and thoughts below.
