No Dead Island 2 Anytime Soon, Deep Silver Confirms

I hope you zombie fans are enjoying DayZ, because it could be a while before you get another decent zombie game.

Case in point: Deep Silver has announced that they are not working on, and don’t have any concept for, a sequel to last year’s sleeper hit Dead Island.

IGN Germany posted a story that supposedly confirmed Dead Island 2 to be in the works. Unfortunately, Guido Eickmeyer, Developmental Director of Deep Silver, let IGN know that “the company is mulling over its options for a sequel and will make an announcement in due course.”

While it definitely doesn’t sound like Deep Silver is against a Dead Island sequel, it’s a bit surprising that they aren’t currently working on one. As the original game has sold over three million copies, it seems crazy that Deep Silver doesn’t want another chance to cash in on the pop culture zombie craze.

Ok it may be my fault since i was listening to this and half watching a stream… but this confused me…

So IGN or some other guys, doesn’t matter, said dead island 2 was
coming.. the company behind the game said they have no plans for it and
are not working on it…

And now you are saying you will keep us updated on the game and talked about how it will probably be?

Are you just assuming the game will be made? or they will make it, but are not working on it atm?

  Sorry to confuse you. The game is not happening as of now, but since the first was so successful, Mike and I believe that it’s only a matter of time before a sequel is announced.

Deep Silver is not the developer but the publisher, so they are NOT really behind Dead Island. A little facts checking next time please.

  As Deep Silver owns the IP, it really doesn’t matter who the developer was or what they think in regard to a sequel being made.
