Grinding Gear Games is setting to have another open stress test to their game Path of Exile. For those that are not aware of this game, it is an action top down online free to play adventure in the same vein as Diablo 2.

Now this test is open for anyone starting at 5 PM Pacific Daylight Time on Friday July 27th til Sunday July 29th.

Gamers will find a number of things to do including:

All of the current Closed Beta content. This includes two acts repeated over four difficulties (about 69 levels worth of content), new end-game Maps, Default and Hardcore leagues, six character classes, approximately 70 active skills, 40 support gems and hundreds of types of items. The new Act Two boss fight is included in this patch!

On top of that Grinding Gear Games is planning on having special events during the beta that will be posted prior to the launch of the stress test.

If you are planning on playing this weekend you can make an account and pre-download the game before the test starts so you are ready for the monster bashing.

Gamers will undoubtedly see a parallel with Diablo 2 here, but is that a bad thing?

Leave a comment below on your thoughts about Path of Exile and if you plan on hitting it up this weekend.

This is a very nice game but the inventory Tetris needs to go. Needing to portal back to town every 2 or 3 mobs is very annoying. Since there is no money in the game, all the currency you has to come from selling loot so not picking up stuff isn’t a great option either.

Having played a number of different games within this genre, I think
the inventory system is hit or miss depending on the gamer.

I find myself enjoying this older form because it places a greater emphasis on what I need to pick up versus picking up everything.

Do have to say that having a barter system is EPIC! Really enjoy the idea, now if only they made a trade window for the game lol.

Well the inventory system is a lot less noticable later on but at the beginning when you actually want stuff it’s annoying.
