All rumors should taken with a grain of salt – or no salt at all – and Valve possibly being merged with Nexon and NCSoft is certainly one of them.
Joongang News reported that during the meeting Nexon, Valve, and NCSoft had during the weekend in South Korea that the talks not only covered the new Counter Strike game that would be hitting Asia but the possibility of a merger.
Joongang News stated that on September 26th the three companies had a meeting in Hawaii to go over the possible merger and to offer Valve $893 million for the merge.
While the meeting could be written off as the three companies confirming what their plans are for Counter Strike at the next developer’s conference, the idea of Valve being sold or merged for only $893 million appears inadequate as analysts like Michael Pachter at Wedbush Securities believe.
On top of this, a Valve spokesman has stated clearly that this is purely a rumor.
I am curious to know how likely you think this rumor is – from never gonna happen to impossible. Leave a comment below letting us know.
