What started as an April Fool’s joke has now become a reality: Saints Row: The Third will be getting a standalone expansion this fall called Enter the Dominatrix.

According to the official press release sent out by THQ, “Enter the Dominatrix takes the award-winning, over-the-top action of Saints Row: The Third and adds the most requested gameplay features from the Saints Row community: freaking super powers.”

In Enter the Dominatrix, evil alien warlord Zinyak attempts to take over the world, eyeing Earth’s natural resources and women. The only group standing in Zinyak’s way? The Third Street Saints, of course.

THQ confirmed with Joystiq that the expansion will be a “standalone boxed retail product,” meaning that it can be played without purchasing Saints Row: The Third.

In addition to announcing the upcoming DLC, THQ has released the “Steelport Gangs Pack” DLC for Saints Row: The Third. This pack allows you to dress your Saint up in the style of the rival gangs. The “Steelport Gangs Pack” is available for $3.

More on Enter the Dominatrix will be revealed this summer, so stay tuned to GAMEBREAKER for future updates.

Never played the first two and went straight for the 3rd installment which i found really fun to play especially playing coop with friends.

I think the fact of being almost indestructible defeats the whole object of any game and makes it pointless to play as there is no real challenge because you just end up standing there taking all the crap that is thrown/shot at you BUT will have to wait and hope this isnt the case with the next Saints Row and if it is then back to GTA i go :)

Some games are designed simply to “play”, not “play against”. Saints Row has always been more about doing crazy stuff than about measuring your performance in some objective way.

Yes Saints row is more crazy to the point of being childish, but the NPC’s are still trying to kill you and when your maxed out its less of a challenge regardless of it measuring your performance

    Super Powers?

Well I suppose, by the end of the game your already fireproof, bulletproof, getting-hit-by-cars-proof, plus you can jump off of tall buildings in a single bound and still walk away. Yeah, I guess supers powers sounds like the next logical step. Calling in my homie to drop off a VTOL takes too long, and sometime they have a hell of a time even landing the thing, I much rather just be able to fly around on my own.
