For those curious, the Xbox video was captured at 720p while the PC video was captured at 1080p.

Hah! I have it on both! However i prefer the pc version, since the only reason im playing on xbox is due to xbox controller is awesome. Hence i purhcased an xbox controller for my PC. Best of both worlds. Sometimes i use xbox controller, most times i dont.

My 2x GTX 680 and i7 3930k can handle all the graphics and mods i want. Im happy :)

I prefer the PC version. But you know I really don’t care as long as I can get the games I want on the format I want. Just wish they would convert to linux.

I’d forgotten how ugly Skyrim is, out of the box. The vid makes an good case for why we mod on PC.

They both look pretty bad imo, but the Xbox is pretty craptastic.  Not surprising because of the ancient tech.  These new consoles can’t come soon enough.

So how about that Playstation DLC ohhhhhhhhh thats right……..

    • Jado Cast

What is this PlayStation you speak of . . . ?

  • Jado Cast

Looks a lot better on my PC to be honest.

tbh. the time of day each sciene was captured looks sompleatly diffrent sometimes and the lighting screws the comparason off.

apart from the skybox (most of the time the weather seamed to be diffrent anyway) there wasnt much of a diffrence. mainly around the lighting and the weather threw that comparason off anyway.

if this is what this site is going to be doing more im very sorry to hear that. to have to pander to the pc players by strokeing their egos is a sad thing to do.
if you have a xbox all good to you your still going to be able to enjoy this game
if you have a pc you are STILL going to be able to enjoy this game

pros and cons for both systems but for everyone to still be trying to say that pc is always better then im sorry for your fanboy”ism” to a non-product like that.

edit: and to add that the xbox looks like it should be played on a lower contrast tv than what that video shows

well of course it looks better on pc without any competition especially with the high res texture packs and cranking that shit up to 11, but I feel what makes a person decide is the question, Controller or Mouse and Keyboard.

Keep in mind the pc can also use the controller so that was the default for me.

I loaded up the PC version of Dragonborn last night and thought the graphics were so bland I went back to playing Oblivion.

It’s too bad Skyrim had to be released without DX11 support.

Honestly I don’t see much of a difference. Besides the xbox video parts were only recorded in 720p while the pc parts were recorded in 1080p. I honestly didn’t know that people still used 720p TV’s. Personally I find it sad how the PC version looks only slightly better and is using a much better system with higher resolution. And why the hell would you play the PC version without any of the awesome mods anyway?

Are the graphics set to high because my version on PC looks better than yours :S

You should redo this. We had an HRez pack yesterday on Steam

You obviously did this not on the highest settings, or you were missing HRez textures. The game looks much better than that on my PC…
