Slender: The Arrival — Sequel to Slender: The Eight Pages — can now be pre-ordered.
You might remember us reporting on a Parsec Productions game a good while back named Slender. Or perhaps you remember this amazing Let’s Play of the game by our very own Darnell? Well, since that time the game has been renamed to Slender: The Eight Pages and creator Mark J. Hadley has teamed up with Blue Isle Studio to create a follow-up titled Slender: The Arrival. And now, the game can be pre-ordered.
Blue Isle Studio is offering instant beta access — plus a few other perks — to those who take advantage of the Slender: The Arrival pre-order option. Yes, instant beta access. That means that anyone who pays today will be playing the game today. In addition to this, the dev team has included a crowdfunding-style list of pre-order options.
Upon it’s release — set for March 26th, the game will be available to everyone for $10. However, those that take advantage of the Slender: The Arrival pre-order option will be able to get the game at 50% off as part of what Blue Isle is calling the pre-order discount. The five bucks will get you a digital version of the game and access to the beta.
The team has also included four other “tiers” — some of which have special perks like a copy of the soundtrack. The full list of options is as follows:
-
$5.00 – Pre-order DiscountWe’ll give you a downloadable copy of the game on release, as well as access to our beta test today
-
$10.00 – Retail PriceSame as the pre-order discount, but you are feeling generous. Thank you!
-
$15.00 – Soundtrack EditionYou get a downloadable copy of the game, access to the beta, and a downloadable copy of the game’s soundtrack on release day
-
$25.00 – Special EditionWe’ll send you everything listed above, plus 5 downloadable high resolution paintings from the game
-
$60.00 – Producer’s EditionYou get everything listed above, plus a very special thank you with your name listed in the game’s credits alongside the developers
Sixty bucks might seem a bit much for a digital game, but I feel like fifteen is a fair amount to throw down and get the soundtrack — especially if you enjoyed The Eight Pages.
If you’re uncertain about pre-ordering the game, Blue Isle Studio did release a trailer a while back which I’ve included here for your convenience. Viewing the video, it looks like you may have more to worry about than ‘ole Slendy. Some of you may recognize some of the other “faces” in the game. I’m not exactly sure… And I’m not sure I want to find out.
And, for those who’d rather watch than play, someone has already posted a video of the Beta gameplay. I didn’t want it to auto-play just in case some of you’d rather not have spoilers. So, check it out below.
