The Witcher 3 will have a 50-hour quest, boats, and 36 end-game states for the world to end up in.
Huge news just dropped about some of the exciting features in CDProjekt RED’s The Witcher 3. Developers have said in previous interviews that they look to learn a lot from open world RPGs like Skyrim and they look to deliver. German website World of Players has been hard at work dissecting information about what we can expect for The Witcher 3 features.
The main story line of The Witcher 3 features 50 hours of gameplay to complete. Side quests will add another 100 hours of play. All this questing will allow our hero to progress up to level 60.
No Monster Kill Grinding
During that near 150-hours of game, there will be absolutely no XP for killing enemies. Wait, what?
The Witcher 3 features Geralt only gaining XP for completing quests. Additionally, enemies will not scale as you level up. This means that there will be big baddies that can stomp your poor little Witcher if you aren’t careful. But, this also means that if you run into a group of bandits that are way under your level, they might try to surrender or flee rather than face your powers.
The Witcher 3 features Geralt as a much more experienced hero and he can now track color-coded traces of beasts nearby as well as jump and climb to access new areas. This will allow players to prepare tactics in advance and hunt down monsters and animals. What will you do once you find them? While hunting beasts may not give you XP, looting their bloody corpses will provide a plethora of crafting components an important aspect of The Witcher series. How much value looted and crafted items have will depend local economy of each settlement. You might expect to travel to certain areas where your crafts are more valued.
I’m On a Boat
Speaking of travel, the world will be massive and you’ll have some getting around to do. Geralt can use horses by either using a magical Axii sign or buying a horse in town. Additionally, he can borrow boats from beaches and ports, maybe even buy his own boat to travel. But don’t worry, these methods are for exploratory traveling and once you discover certain points you’ll be able to fast travel to known locations.
There will be three main areas in The Witcher 3 featuring a world map and no invisible borders: there is the windy and hearty archipelago of Skellige, the delta of the Pontar and the war-torn No Man’s Land.
The Witcher 3 Features Dynamic Story States
You will be able to import your previous Witcher saves and this will affect your game experience. Previous saves will not changed the main storyline at all but will change how certain characters perceive and interact with Geralt as you play.
Character development will be more dynamic as ever in The Witcher 3 allowing for complex customization. Your choices will matter and there are potentially 36 different states of being the world can end up in because of your actions. The ending will feature at least three separate hour-long epilogues for you depending on how you choose to play the game.
Also, information suggests releases on PC, PS4, and the next xbox console.
