Hi-Rez Studios has released their newest SMITE god reveal video highlighting the lore, abilities, and tactics for Ares. Ares is melee magic-based tank with a healthy mix of damage and control abilities. His ultimate ability, No Escape, looks incredibly powerful and is reminiscent of a turbo-charged Scorpion “Get over here” maneuver. He sends out magical chains at all nearby enemy gods and—after a few seconds—pulls them all to him dealing damage and stunning them. This can be used to yank enemy gods into towers or peel them away from their allies. Ares can also bolster the defenses of his allies and use his fire-belching shield to deal percentage-based damage to enemies. The Searing Flesh ability is particularly nasty against opponents with high health pools. Ares is set to make a big first impression when he’s added to SMITE’s roster in the near future.
