Blizzard Delays Launch Of Diablo III Real-Money Auction House

By now, we all know that Diablo III didn’t have what many would consider the most successful of launches. Blizzard was quick to apologize. However, the apology did come with the announcement that the real-money auction house would be delayed.

Now,  according to a post from community manager Nethaera on Battle.net the auction house release date is still up in the air.  Nethaera states that: “In light of the post-launch obstacles we’ve encountered, we have made the decision to move the launch of the real-money auction house beyond the previously estimated May time frame.”

The community manager goes on to say that this is in order to address all existing issues before launching the auction house as Blizzard wants to “ensure everyone has the smoothest experience possible” when it goes live.

As of now, there is no new launch date.

Personally, I don’t think I mind waiting for the auction house for a while, so long as it works well when it comes out.

What about you?

Me neither I don’t mind waiting, I don’t use the Auction House much anyway and its give them more time to make sure no one can exploit anything from it.

How about never launching the RMAH and giving us an offline mode?

    • MMO_Doubter

That would be a lot better, though it would disappointed fools who think they can earn a living playing the game.

I don’t know how anyone else feels but I feel the game isn’t worth $60. People talk about G2 hype D3 hype was beyond anything. 12 years to develop a game that took me12 hours to play on regular (BTW the story line is B.S and boring) Hard mode is also B.S classes are so unbalanced. My 45 Barb is so op. Yet my 38 DH is weak as crap. The AH is a joke I use it and sell items that seem “worth” The crafting is insane nothing but super money sink. I’m really disappointed with the game.Like many I would rather have an offline mode and no RMAH I just don’t see the need for it.Fact is after 12 years you get a online game that takes 12 hours to do solo and same boring hard mode. The only good thing about the game I have found is the some of cinematics are pretty sweet. All 3 of them in game other then that..Why did it take 12 years?I guess it took blizzard a year for for an hour of content to be laid out. Overall rating of this game is a 2/10. Atleast G2 lives up to the hype…

I agree with you on the “why did it took 12 years to make diablo 3?” question. The game is way too short, the story….sorry, I meant what story? There is none, just a bunch of disjointed and short voice overs from the books you find or talking to the main characters and the cut-scenes ( the ones that looked like concept art edited together) recapping the things you just did a minute before them, it just doesn’t cut it. And to make it worst how can you even take the little story there is seriously when the demons look like Scooby Doo monsters because of the cartoony art style?

I seriously don’t see why D3 took so long to make so I call shenanigans because probably Blizzard lied on the amount of time it really took just to create hype before release.

Just so you know, the game was NOT in development for 12 years and I don’t know why so many people think it was. And if you finished the game in 12 hours then you pretty much rushed through it, which is fine if that’s how you like to play. For me, it took about 30 hours to finish on normal, but that was checking and clearing every inch of the maps, reading (listening) to all the books and stories, etc. Btw, you can finish Diablo 2 in less than 12 hours as well, including the expansion, just to put things into perspective. As far as story, since when was Diablo (or any ARPG for that matter) ever about story? It seems that some people were looking for something in Diablo 3 that was never go to be there in the first place and then acting disappointed. D3 is exactly what is was supposed to be, nothing more, nothing less. If you don’t like it, that’s ok, there are plenty of other games out there. It’s not the best game ever made, but it is a lot of fun to a lot of people and it will be played and supported for many years to come.

This is not the old Blizzard. No more “we release when it is ready.”

    They are selling their reputation.

GBTV, you really ARE industry apologists now.
